hey i was wondering how many of u were running DoD on an alienware computer i have the Aurora 9700 my stats are
-1gb ram
-AMD Turion(tm) 64 Mobile Technology ML-44 / 2.4ghz
-NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS SLI
-400gb harddrive

what are ur stats

7,200 rpm is pretty much standard these days. it's the 10,000 rpm people get if they are willing to pay quite a bit more.
 
In my opinion Alienware is just money wasted for a name, you could easily contruct your own computer and get whatever you want at most likely lower costs.

I have 2 x 250GB SATA II hard drives aswell as an external 500gb one lol
 
Well, if his is overkill...then what is mine?

AMD X2 6000+
8GB PC2-6400 (Yes, 8gb ram)
1.5TB of space (do a lot of dvd ripping and HD recording)
7600GT (I know, an insane computer and an average video card)
Dual 20" Dell LCD's WideScreen
 
It's called Vista 64bit, and the ability to have 128GB (yes gb) of ram. I only have 8gb, meh!

i have nothing to prove to you.....it is what it is......and 4-8gb will be the norm very soon....wait and see.
 
yeah well i could have had 500gb but it runs at 5200 rpm and u have to remember im running on a laptop,

I have 2 111GB drives (WD SATA Special Edition 8MB Cache Drives) and one 465GB WD SATA300 Drive. I also have an external 250GB LaCie drive.

Storage wins.
 
lemme guess elf your using Flash drives for ram cause there and unless its a workstation mobo that i know of can do 8 gb of pc6400 800mhz because they dont make 2gb strips of 800mhz ram that ive seen and since right now its only 1 gig strips you would need 8 DIMM (RAM) slots highly unlikely for a gaming comp to have

so agreed outbreak

now if they did make 2gig strips they'd be atleast 300 or 400 $ a strip so way not worth it

What are you talking about? OCZ, Patriot, Corsair, etc, they all make 2gb sticks of pc2-6400 now.....come on man....get with it!
