Chris Benoit, family found dead

STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment was informed today by authorities in Fayetteville County, Ga., that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son were found dead in their home. Authorities are investigating, but no other details are available at this time.

Instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, WWE will air a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit.

Chris was beloved among his fellow Superstars, and was a favorite among WWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestling ability. He always took great pride in his performance, and always showed respect for the business he loved, for his peers and towards his fans. This is a terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss.

WWE extends its sincere condolences and prayers to the Benoit family and loved ones in this time of tragedy.

dang that sux, i thought mr mcmahon was(knew that he really wasnt) dead? bet he gonna come out and should apologize for fakin his death after this tragidy, RIP benoit
 
I haven't watched wrestling in years, but I did read about that. Considering what's happened, that will forever be a black eye on the WWE. It's amaizing though, on RAW the whole stadium is empty. They canceled the event. When Owen died, or more recently, when Eddy died they did nothing like this.

I got the chance to see Benoit in one of his best matches in 1999. My dad took me and my older brother to Wrestlemania 17 in Houston and I got to see him wrestle Kurt Angle. I'm thankful for that.

no offense im not a fan of wrestiling (well i used to be) but that is awful no matter who it happens to. i cant beileve that this would happen or why anyone would do this

I've seen him on tv on several occasions growing up, with friends and family. I'll miss'em. Very tragic what happend to his family.
 
do they have any suspects? Usually when a whole family is found dead it always seems to be a murder suicide.

last night (monday) WWE was showing all of the great matches that he was in like all of the Royal Rumbles and a couple others. They also had wrestlers come out and talk a little bit about him and say a few words. It was really sad to see big men like Edge come out and start crying because of the death. RIP "The Canadian Crippler"
 
wow i knew it was a murder suicide, and 99% of it i bet had to do with steriods, pro wrestlin needs to stop the use of steriods(Jim Rome) very dangerous stuff, its like a meth addikt coming down off his high(seen many of those)
