64 player server is it possible?

Is it possible to have a 64 player server?
Also if it is. say if i wanted to pay for it would it be possible to add it to ego?
 
Don't believe you can push it past 32 with the current servers. My guess is as servers get stronger this will become a reality. I know of the MMORPG but the only WW2 based MMOFPS is Battlefield Europe and the graphics/lag is terrible.

Can you just imagine 50 vs 50 or something like that :::drool:::

nah. i dont think they do, because you have to think. what about the spawn points? people are going to be spawning on top or in eachother (and no. i dont mean that way you sickos)

[/quote1183155531]Yeah, like they do in CS:S. Sometimes with a full server you can get like 5 groups of people stuck together. Its silleh.

Kalt? Try Flash. Could you imagine the mayhem at that middle flag? Because I really don't think you could. Or you at least wouldn't survive imagining it.
 
Don't think source supports it, as far as I know, the limit is 32 players for a server. Beyond that, the maps were designed with a 32 player cap in mind.
 
If they did make dods server 64 with maps that are bigger they would sell so many copies.... from a financial poiint of view from steam I would do it, plus it would be fun lol
 
Shortly: NO... Valve simply designed the Source engine to allow only a maximum of 32 players on any source based game... changing the limits of people would require a major overhaul on the whole engine... too much strain would be put on servers if they simply were turned over to 64 players.
 
Wrong Source engine can handle 64 players aka CSS they didnt put in dods because small maps and lag for no lag everyone needs to be on same connection, same comp, same game plus Valve thinks ahead on some things and none on other
