Server

Ok well the problem is simple to explain... I go to run a server through Source's Dedicated Server under Tools in the Steam Tabs... and I create the server with no problem but, when some people try to join it... it gives them the message server is not responding. I know people can join though because i had people joining the game and i just had to kick them but anyone know why this is happening?

router may be blocking some ppl since u said u were using a router, other than that possibly any firewalls including windows.
thats all i can think of

I got it man its ok .... see when your behind a router you need to go to whatsmyip and get the ip address givin there to the ppl that you want to join your server otherwise they cant join..

Negative ... you'd do that too if you weren't behind a router. The problem is nearly all routers have some sort of built in "firewall" that essentially just blocks a huge range of ports from talking to your computer. You need to go to portforwarding.com and figure out how to forward the correct ports to your machine. Note that when you port forward, you need to specify your LOCAL IP, not the global IP found from the website you mention.

To grab that, go to your command prompt and type "ipconfig." Your local IP should look something like 192.168.0.xxx or 192,168.100.xxx etc.
