Yep, that's right folks. I don't play a ton of games on my xbox360, but we use it as our DVD player. We watched a few minutes of a movie, stepped out for a few minutes, came back and got the dreaded three red lights of death! :-(

So now it's 5-7 weeks of no xbox360...luckily we have a crappy little DVD player we can use, lol, so no 360 is no big deal.

But the hour or so on tech support...now that was the horror of my night!

HAHA!
o wait that sux, but yea i like sony alot more, they have the Socom: US Navy Seals series.
The only game im into heavily on xbox, regular or 360, is oblivion or the splinter cell series

I gotta say the bluescreen of death is ANNOYING, that would suck to be just having fun on DoD, then BOOM!.......You almost fall out of you seat because of its "Blueness" :p ....that does suck dude, hope ya get it fixed

And this, my friend, is why I'm a Sony Fanboi.

The red lights of death don't sound too different than the PS2 disc read error. I am on my 3rd PS2 after 5 years.

Yep...I'm a pc fanboi. The best console out right now is the Wii. The games are 10x better, and in addition you can't play them on the PC (for the most part). Super Paper Mario, Warioware Smooth Moves, Mario Party 8, Zelda Twilight Princess...not to mention Metroid Prime coming August 27th and Super Mario Galaxy later this year.

Plus it is great fun for the family as well.

5-7 weeks? Where do you live, Alpha Centauri?

When I sent my 360 in (constant freezing) it took about 12 days to get it back.

I've been on the same PS2 I got on release year ^_^

It doesn't play DvDs, PS1 Games, or CDs. but I have alternate ways to do that so it's no real problem.

Personally I'm not a huge console fan, but I prefer Sony over Microsoft/Nintendo.

There's a way to fix it. Take a couple of towels, wrap them around the 360, so it's nice and cozy. Turn it on (with the towels around them) and let it bake for about 20 minutes. Once 20 minutes is up, take off the towels, turn the 360 off for about another 20 minutes. When those 20 minutes are up, turn on the 360. It should work now. If you ever get the red lights again just do the technique I told you. :)

I was so confused as to what the hell you were talking about...I had to read the whole post and then a few more to figure out what you meant...did I mention I've NEVER owned an x-box? :p
