[poll] Vista?

I thought it was brilliant, but I got FPS lag in DODs, I went from 90 fps to 20 making unplayable, it may be ok now but you'd have to try. That's the only reason why I'm not using vista, is because I couldn't play DODs

First, PLease i beg you people to stop blaming Vista for bad drivers that came out when vista did. Blame creative and nVidia for crappy drivers (they were beta anyways for months).

I have been using vista since it came out, and I also have started my own IT related business. Even though I like Vista, I would not reccomend anyone upgrade to it from XP pro.

Yes there are new features, nad there are also new annoyances. It will take you over a week to get used to the new menu system and finding where your 'normal' windows and settings are. Basically what it comes down to, is the price. If you have a perfectly good XP pro key, then why fix somehting that is not broken? I reccomend waiting untill you get a new PC (or build one).

Vista takes alot of resources compared to XP. The only reason I can see to upgrade to Vista is if you need a feature that XP does not have, such as DX10.

I will be happy to answer questions if anyone has any, just throwing in my opinion.

PS WallMart - I wanted to answer "No - even though I like it" Your liek the king of bad poll choices lol

ya, i know...hahaha, ill choose polls better......and, everyone says that the annoying safety things always pop up with vista, but you can disable that cant you?....and does it run any faster at all?

PS: Thats why I put "its...ok" for one of the choices, where you like it, but you dont

You can disable the security questions...yes they are unbelievably annoying.

I'm with everyone else and say wait till you upgrade to the next comp. No reason to waste an XP Pro key.

#1, it's.. ok doesnt represent hwo i feel, because i liek it.
#2, Rahne (and everyone else) if you gave the security thing a chance you would find its not that annoying. At first it pops up all the time, because you are installing new drivers and such, but once everything is settled, you dont see it much either.
When you run a program that wasnt made For vista, it asks you the security question. and some people say it opens programs faster and such, and I say Eh. Consitter that it takes more resources to just idle on your desktop than before, most people have faster computers and dont consitter that. One thing that Vista does, is keep more info in RAM / pagefile so, if you leave your computer on all the time, its faster to open programs the second and third time. I havnt times it, but it feels the same speed as XP in general, however, consitter again that tons of your resources get used by windows EX: after base install 1.3 GB of memory were being used to IDLE. I just checked this instant, after getting out of the scrim and 930 MB are being used
