[poll] Realism of Bleeding and Trying to Patch Wounds

The removal of "instaproning" and the upgrade in graphics and physics of DOD in DOD: Source are all great. But what about the loss of realism in the removal of the bleeding wound? I'm still on the fence on this topic because I remember the agony of almost getting the winning cap, but dying at the last second because the K98 bullet wound just wouldn't stop gushing. However, I have spent a lot of time with the rifles in DOD: Source and there have been several times when you will shoot someone in the chest and only deal 90hp worth of damage. Leaving them free to own you with an assault weapon along with any other of your unsuspecting teamates nearby.

Let me know what you think.

I am fairly certain that bleeding in dod classic was a mod, not part of the original game. I'm also fairly certain this mod exists in dod:s. I could be wrong (theres a first time for everything after all).

Yea it was cool. But it is a game, and I don't like stuff slowing me down from playing. Patching yourself up is not what i want to be doing on a Friday night.

i saw it on some other server before i joined this beastlyness
so its out there.
It kinda sucks cuz it leaves a trail of blood too, so the freagin enemy knows if you're all in there base.
peace-

Bleeding was terrible, I believe it was in the game for awhile in the original but then was removed and added it only as a mod/plugin. I played with the mod awhile ago and have in several scrims, and I HATE it. The blood would give my position away, and it was very glitchy. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. I'd get hit with a nade for 98 damage and not bleed, but I'd get shot with a pistol, be unable to patch myself up, and die from bleeding. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

I say, if you can live for 20 minutes kicking the crap out of people on 5 health, by all means go ahead. People did nothing but complain in 1.3 because of the kar's one shot kill, I hate doing 90 damage to someone with a shot in source just as much as the next guy, but it would defeat the purpose of set damage on all weapons if we all just bled to death right afterwards.

I loved bleeding, just hearing the zwip zwip zwip of the bandages meant an easy kill around the corner. Plus it added some more suspense to the game. I miss it, always wish they'd add it back in.
