My oldest daughter was playing outside this afternoon, and I could hear her giggling out on the front deck. There was this timid little knock on the door, followed by "Mama, could you come out here?" She said she had something to show me that she wasn't allowed to bring in... My first instinct was to lock the door because I just KNEW she had another frog or lizard... I was wrong.
She walked in carrying a tiny ball of grey fluff with white markings. It's a tiny long haired female kitten. Probably about 6-7 weeks old. She's adorable. Daughter found her in the bushes covered in burrs. She looked all over for a mother cat or siblings and couldn't find any... So... after the usual "can I keep it?" questions, begging, groveling.. We have a new pet. Ok, so I pulled the same thing on the husband that my daughter pulled on me.. I made him hold the little furball and asked him if we were letting our daughter keep it, or if we were tossing it back outside where it would be murdered by stray dogs or traffic. He gave me THE look, and finally agreed.
I have to take pics of her. The kitten is just gorgeous. The weird thing is that our male cat totally took to her, and she was cuddled up with him in no time. And... they look a lot alike. We're thinking this is offspring from one of his wild nights outside of the house. LOL But he's not being overly territorial like he normally is with new pets. Similiar markings, and almost identical to the other kittens out of his litter. *shrug* Either way, it's pretty cool that they get along so well right from the start.
Our daughter named her: Fuzznugget. Kids are weird.
