The PSP and PSP2000

This is some new informaion I found on the new psp.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to PlayStation Magazine -- and we suppose they would know -- Sony has a PSP redesign in the works. It's not a PSP 2, the rumored device resides squarely in the realm of redesign, but the supposed 8GB flash drive from Samsung, built-in EyeToy and a thinner, lighter form factor would all be welcome improvements to the current PSP. Actually, all the specs match up nicely with the PSP 2 rumors we were hearing earlier this year, but supposedly Sony wants to go with the Apple model of iPod upgrades, and stick with the single PSP name. In recent interviews, Sony's SCEA president Kaz Hirai didn't directly discount the idea of a PSP redesign, but he didn't really give it a lot of weight either. We're willing to give this rumor a fair shake, but we'll have to wait for more info and a real pic to see if this thing can have DS lite-ish success at its purported March 2007 launch -- Sony sure could use a hit.

The new PSP Slim also has more things it can do. My favorite thing it can do is put your videos on your PSP to your TV. These are the new features:

-33% lighter weight
-size is 19% slimmer
-improved responsiveness D-pad
-new speakers that have also been moved up
-WiFi switch moved to the top
-new UMD loading tray
-the USB port now charges the PSP as well
-new video-out function for pictures, videos & games where the PSP becomes the controller (cable not included)
-twice the RAM (now 64MB) for shorter loading times
-new enamel colors Piano Black & Ice Silver for the handheld (Ceramic White bundle later on).

So what do you think about it?

It looks pretty cool but i've always found the more glossier it is, the more finger prints it gets and that I find is really unattractive. The 8gb flash would be great though, as those memory sticks are very expensive. I have an original PSP and i've found it's not very useful because I wanted it for the movies and the music but it didn't have internal memory. It's great for plane rides though.

All I have to say is DS > PSP. From the looks of the pictures of the PSP, it doesn't look a bit different. It's like, a quater of an inch slimmer.

i have a cool psp with a customized 20 gb CHIPP got it of eba from a friend!!!! and i changed specs a little.......... mine rocks but its not that heavy............

Lol gamecube, thats a pos. It was intended for kids aging around 10 (yes that's a fact). PSP has better graphics (fact) and the DS doesn't have a good game that doesn't involve an italian plumber.

Playstation will become the main gaming console after acquiring RockStar, which is already PS exlusive.

Blinds- So do I.
Casual- Need glasses?
Rocket- It looks like a McD's toy, lol.
Daft- that's why you should buy another faceplate.

OH AND TO PROVE THAT THE PSP IS BETTER THAN THE DS:
The PSP already has a DS emulator (i.e. It can play some DS games)

Sorry that I know too much about video games and such.

Blackvenom, please stop being a condescending fanboy and crawl out of your shell. Wise up and open your mind.

"Lol gamecube, thats a pos."

Oh, well, at least you respect his opinion.

"...DS doesn't have a good game that doesn't involve an italian plumber."

You know that's not true, but obviously you wouldn't admit it, it would contradict your entire life philosophy. Not to mention that even if it were true, it wouldn't matter because a good game is a good game.

"Playstation will become the main gaming console after acquiring RockStar, which is already PS exlusive."

This is really the only outright 'fact' in your post, and it's completely false. Gooooood job. I assume you mean Rockstar, a subsidiary of Take-Two, best known for the Grand Theft Auto series. Rockstar is not at all Sony exclusive. You're sarcastically apologetic for 'knowing too much about video games and such' yet you don't even know that GTA IV is coming to the 360? Come on. Not to mention Manhunt 2, Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis, and the Bully Remake, all of which are releasing on the Wii (Table Tennis was released for the 360 last year, too).

"The PSP already has a DS emulator (i.e. It can play some DS games)"

...Yeah, that proves nothing about quality. It just shows that the PSP is more powerful than the DS, which is a known fact and appears to be irrelevant concerning the quality of games released on a system. It would be kind of sad if the PSP couldn't run some of the 2D DS games. I am, of course, ignoring the obvious fact that the PSP has no touch screen nor an acceptable method of simulating it.

I thought this would be a place where I could be free from the plague of fanboyism (minus PC fanboys), but unfortunately, I guess I was wrong.

"You know that's not true, but obviously you wouldn't admit it, it would contradict your entire life philosophy. Not to mention that even if it were true, it wouldn't matter because a good game is a good game."
Calm Down, I said that in MY OPINION. I'm not a "fanboy", as I grew up on the SNES and eventually the N64. PS2 killed the SEGA hd franchise and Nintendo didn't have anything out so I went with it. My point being that Nintendo was too slow to move on from the N64, and when they did they introduced a child's toy: the GameCube. And yes it was intended as a console for kids.
SUMMING IT UP: Sony and Nintendo made a good team, when they split I followed the true future of gaming, in my opinion. If Nintendo and Sony partnered again, I'd go with them.

About the GTA IV thing, I DID know about that, I should've mentioned that it's going exclusive AFTER GTA: IV. Sony has plans to buy Rockstar from Take-Two I..

I HAD TO RUSH THIS SO IT'S SLOPPY!

i never really wanted a psp or a ds. my gameboy advance sp does me just fine with all ma zelda games. i think i have all but two zelda games for the game bow. i do have one of the first zelda gameboy games. zelda: the windmaker; links awakening.its my favorite one of all the zelda games.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say the DS sucks, I said the GC did. And wtf is Baron Rojo? That's not Spanish, at least Baron isn't... unless you misspelled it.

50cent- they changed a lot more than just the design.
No life- what does Zelda have to do with the PSP?
