BioShock

Has anyone purchased this game yet for either PC or Xbox360 or even just tried out the PC demo? If so, do you think it lives up to the hype?

I have downloaded it from work and I will be taking it home with me on a flash drive to try it out later today. If the demo is good enough, I will spend the $50 for it.

I have the demo and I love it!

I got to shoot lightning at a group of people who were swimming and they all got electracuted.

It definitely lives up to the hype!

the only reason that i'm not gonna get it is: DOESN'T HAVE MP!!! HEAR ME 2K GAMES! why wouldn't you make a multiplayer thing? it would be the sweetest mp game after hl2dm dods and tf2(hopefully its gonna worth waiting 8 years)

i think dyematrix spent an all nighter and until right now 4:50 PST playing bioshock, cause i left xfire last night with him playing, and saw him playing until now...

Because not every game needs multiplayer. Adding multiplayer to the game would just suck resources (be it money, workers, or whatever) away from working on the singleplayer, leaving you with a diluted experience on both accounts. Developers should not feel required to shoehorn multiplayer into every single game just to get sales.

I wrote a review on it a day after it came out on this forum. I pretty much gave it a near perfect score. Amazing game, totally rekindled my faith in the dying FPS experience. To be honest, even HL2 didn't really suck me in, even if it did have a few fun levels. STALKER was probably the closest before BioShock, and even it had it's flaws..

BioShock is by far one of the best games that I have ever played - a definite must have.

Maybe since they realized that everyone would be playing Day of Defeat online, they saw no point in doing so.
