i really need help with DoD:S

Basically here is my problem in a nut shell:

ANything in the options of the game will not stay saved, For example, when i turn on my PC and go in and play DODS my name is set as EG.

OK so i change that to eGO but as soon as i exit the DODS application it reverts back to EG

Try reinstalling DoD.

Delete the Day of Defeat: Source, folder in your steamapps and just reinstall in the Steam Games menu.

This'll delete all of your custom skins though.

You don't need to do that. It seems like peoples' first recommendation is always to just reinstall things... Sure, it's easy, but it's usually unnecessary.

Navigate to this folder: "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\YOURACCOUNTNAME\day of defeat source\dod\cfg\". Right-click any CFG files you have, go to Properties, and make sure 'Read-Only' is unchecked. Once you go in-game and modify your settings to your liking, you may want to go back into this folder and change you config.cfg back to 'Read-Only' to stop unscrupulous servers from screwing with your settings.

i had this problem with my name a lot. at the very bottom of your config file should be your name. edit it there and it will be fine in game forever.
