Possible Steam Mod?

I've been thinking a lot about this and I've wanted to suggest it to valve, but I'd rather check to see if there is a mod of it before I suggest anything to them. (Yeah I google searched it but I couldn't find anything worth while).

Anywho, I love listening to music while I play. Whether it be Metal, Rock, or Techno; I just love it because it gets me pumped up to play. (It is also very good at drowning out the voice chat, when I don't want to hear any of it but still want to have game sounds (Which brings up another question that will be asked at the end of this post).). But if there is anything I hate most in the world (huge overstatement), it is always minimizing my game to switch playlists because a song comes on that I don't like or I want to listen to something else.

So I was wondering, is there a modification for steam that will allow me to mess with my music playlists by just pressing escape to get into the game menu? (Possibly right around the Friends menu button, but it doesn't matter, does it?)

If you use Winamp, you can bind any key on your keyboard to change tracks, pause, stop, and whatnot.

And for your voice thing, just go into your audio options and turn the 'Voice receive volume' all the way down.

Excellent on the voice thing!

I do have Winamp, and I suppose it would work. But wouldn't it be tubular if you could do it through Steam? Wouldn't adding a music player to Steam make it the ultimate program? Possibly even uploading your music to steam so you can listen to it on any computer anywhere?

Maybe this still isnt arround, but back in the day (actually i mean fairly recently) there was a mod or patch for an HL mp3 players which you could mess with from inside games. I cant remember what it's called but i bet it wouldnt take that much searching.

I do remember something like this, but I haven't used it in some time.
I just use my keyboard.. G15. Built in iTunes controles.

it would be nice if you could bring up a music window just like you bring up an xfire chat window. but i have never seen anything like that.

Steam probably won't be that because of the whole copy right thing with music.
