Sadly I have not yet been able to buy a headset. Had one long ago when I played BF2 but it basically just died. Therefore, I don't have xfire. Hopefully will in the near future, though.

Yeah xfire is just like AIM or any other chat program except you can bring it up while your in a fullscreen game and it don't lag you so it's good for gaming, no headset required.
