ok, so after months and months of researching, comparing prices, watching the Core 2 Extreme Quad core qx6850 destroy the market, i have every part up and running.. and considering i'm upgrading from a 2003 Toshiba Qosmio 1.8ghz 2gig RAM, Nvidia 6600 Go..... I feel like a God with my new machine.

So I decided not to go with the Q6700 because the diff in price vs performance for the Q6600 doesn't make sense.. unless you're all about the OC n that's all. Im not, i rather save $180 and sacrafice 26mhz (.26ghz) x4.. SO HERE IT IS::!!!!!!

*Apevia X-Telstar Computer Case w/ Window - Black
*EVGA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB PCI Express x16 Video Card - makes DOD:S fly

*Everest 800 ATX12V V2.2/EPS V2.91 800W Power Supply
*(4 GIGS!) 2xCORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF

*PLEXTOR 18X DVD±R DVD Burner - Model PX-800A/SW

Yes eGO clan... read em and weeeep. I will never lag out or freeze in DOD again... i will be gunning for you all, especially you John T and you Pick em up JOnesy!

also as a side note... as much as i love DOD and eGO I'm really not a gamer at heart ... i mean i am, i love PS2... xbox.. but computer wise. All of this equipment is to help in my rendering/processing times when doing 3D modeling and video editing.. just so u all don't think I'm a freak and bought all this stuff for DOD:S. :D

it looks nice, and actually I especially love the Plextor drive, I <3 plextor because i can pour sand into my drive and it craps out burnt CD's. They enevr die and have super sweet featurs.
But then you turn arround and buy the top of the line video card from eVGA. I mean, it wouldnt be bad to get a gts to save money and get eVGA (to save money) but why bother buying top of the line GTX from eVGA brand? this is somehting i will never understand about how other people build their computers. It might as well be a Ford GT40 made by Tonka. LOL. But seriousely, it still runs great and hope you have fun playing DOD:S. I look forward to killing you at more frames per second now!

Save for your power supply/case/& gtx brand--that's the exact rig I'm pulling the trigger on in the next week or so in prep for TF2/steam upgrades/dx10.

What OS are you running?

Don't feel too bad about eVGA--their warranty is about as good as it gets and they have the step-up program. Make sure you register with eVGA soon--that way you can upgrade to any new card they make in the next 90 days. That really only leaves the upcoming nvidia g92 line though (unless you want an ultra)...which is rumored to be slower than the gtx; but, you never know. (update: depending where you read-upcoming g90 line will either be 2x as powerful as the gtx or somewhere in between
the gts and gtx)

Can you post some in-game pics (with a netgraph if possible)?

You Must be loving it!

The quad core processors are not quite ready for prime time gaming just yet. They work but very little performace gain over a dual core..... don't fear though... all game makers will work this out I'm sure.

sragg, stop posting the same exact negative commants aboutt he quads in everyones threads lol. Go to the other thread and read my comments to your comment about how quads dont suck, and are lacking because of games inability to take advantage and rely on graphics....... i hate repeating myself..... it really GRINDS MY GEARS - but wait, if only i had my own GRINDS MY GEARS forum..... hmm....

Cool that you got your computer working. I think 2x raptors bright too much extra price for me :/. I'm sure that DoDS will run well ;)
