screw the geek squad. Buy windows xp, its a lot cheaper than 250 bucks, Re format and start over if you have to.

Have you tried ANTI Virus software?

What is your computer saying?

ive tried using my mcafee stuff, it says it cant be deleted or cleaned. it ownt let me get into any programs. and my computer IS an xp

What you need to do is go to bestbuy and buy a system restore disk. Just reformat your harddrive. Or see if you friends have any restore disks. You live in Sacramento right?

Wait how are you on the site then? O_O

There is another way..... maybe. It depends if you've got the System Restore option turned on.

Go to:

Start / Programs / accessories / system tools / system restore

If you have the option turned on, the Restore My Computer to an Earlier Time will be selected.

Click NEXT, then you will get a calendar with available dates in a blue font. Pick a date in the past that you think may not have been infected by the trojan and follow instructions (a next or continue)

Your pc will start the restore process.

Note, anything you had installed after that date will have to be reinstalled.

This isn't like a format, it only works on the operating system, not your data files, pictures, mp3's docs, etc. They will be saft.

If the restore doesn't work, try another date.

Best of luck, and hope it works! I've saved many friends a lot of hassle with this. Generally restore is turned on by default, but many shut it off to save time in power on and shutdowns.

All it takes is for it to save your "life" one time and you'll always keep it turned on.

thx redshift, and im on at a buddy's house rite now. other times i can get on is when im at the library etc...

McAffe and Norton Anti-virus both are just bloatware. Nod32 andKaspersky are the best... Symantec Anti-Virus is good (NOT NORTON)

Look blindsfell, i have had the trojan horse virus before and have easily got rid of it. They usually give you a path the where the virus is. Trojan Horse virus' usually infect system restore files.

If system restore didn't work like redshift suggested, i recommend that you turn off system restore, it deletes your old restore points. therefore, deleting your virus.

Have you googled the exact name of the virus yet? write it down and give it to us, thats the best way we can help.
