I think it's the saddest thing there is, but Grunge died when Kurt shot himself. Grunge isn't the same thing without him around

There's no such thing as grunge. The term grunge was used by the media to group the alternative rock bands coming out of the day. Any alternative band that wasn't wearing makeup and eye liner and kinda sounded like Nirvana got labeled as a grunge band.
Some of the biggest 'grunge' bands weren't grunge. Alice in chains and Soundgarden were never grunge.
If Metallica had released Load and Reload in 91 rather than the Black Album, I'm sure some stupid Rolling Stone writer would have called them grunge.

Ya know, with some of the music writers out there, I would not be surprised.
The one thing that REALLY pisses me off about grunge is that it's defining song, 'Smells like teen spirit', was written by Kurt to sound like a Pixies song.

When I heard the Pixies for the first time, I connected with that band so heavily that I should have been in that band — or at least a Pixies cover band. I ain't bashing you at all, bro. One thing you gotta understand is that I'm a musician and I'm VERY opinionated on the music that I like. That being said though I will NEVER bash someone else's tastes in music. However, stupid media writers designing their own genres of music in order to make the most money...... that I'll bash.
