sony earphone design

Does anyone know why sony perfect to set up thier earphones that has one long side and one exremly short side.

Who favores this design anyway?" its extremly annoying

You're supposed to put the long side around the back of your neck. Its probably so the wire doesn't get in the way when you're doing crap.

So, I thought about this for a day. I can only assume I know what your talking about even though its a little unclear.

I have a pair of headphones that came with my sony minidisk player like 8 years ago. (p.s. i would still rather have a minidisk player than ipod) On my headphones, the left speaker is connected directly to the minidisk (5 feet of cord), and the right speaker is connected directly to the left (1 foot of cord). (these are over the ear style, there is no headband or plastic piece connecting each speaker)

If you are asking about this same style, then my next question is: would you prefer that both speakers connect to the device so that you have two wires joinging to make one bigger wire on your chest? The design sony has used allows there to be only one long wire, and it doesnt run across your chest, or slide against your face, but down your side and into your pocket. The shoter wire can hang in back or in front depending on personal preference.

I like the design because it allows me to listen to my headphones while wearing a hood easily with alot of movement and when I cary things the wire doesnt get pinned to my chest so I can look left and right etc. I'm guessing by now that you are either talking about a different setup or possibly dont understand how to put on the headphones? The only time I was annoyed, was at first because it was hard to put them one initially. once on, they are out of the way, and by now i have no problems with them.

I know wat desig your talkin about and i have the same type. Because one side is longer than the other it gets caught more easily, for me, onto other things. But either way, i only care about the quality, and the quality is alright.
