MG42...gotta love it.

Sgt Masterson[JONES]

I made one post
Despite the fact that I am now that I'm back in the states and am going to college on the government's bill, I still have a widely wandering eye and an almost single minded obsession with firearms. I was looking around news blogs this afternoon and found this picture.

What is that gun strapped to the man's back closest to the viewer? That's right, ladies and gents, its a German MG-42 or some ghetto variation of. I didn't think they still used them...Go Turkish Army!

Haha! They must be good guns then.

It just goes to show how good of a weapon it was (and still is). The MG42 set the standard of how future machine guns should be designed.

Well if the germans did anything right it was weapons. I mean the mauser brothers created the first roll bolt action rifle, which was used in the mauser k98 (everybody knows and loves) and then was adapted by mr. garand and what came out of that? well lets see the M1 yay!

I was gonna say, that's an MG3. The only difference really between it and the 42 is that the MG3 is chambered for the standard 7.62 MM NATO round.
