all right. I don't know the problem fully but really when i go to watch videos like a video on wwe.com it doesn't play. But when i go to my moms laptop and click the same video it will play. What do i need to do to fix that? I got windows media player up too date too. Any ideas yall? I want to watch the video on my pc and it won't play at all.

When you "watch videos" it is unclear if you are talking about flash on websites, or downloading mpegs, or streaming video directly into WMP or others. This problem is hard to diagnose because I dont have enough information. Anything from a codec problem to who knows what. Could you tell us any more information? I mean, does windows media player open and then you get sound? or it opens but the movie goes blank? or are you even using WMP? you mentioned it but I cant tell if your even using it, or if you just updated it because you werent sure whatelse to do. Let me know.

i am not trying to open i mean just play a video.
if you go to wwe.com and play a video for them it should play. well for me it doesn't try to load at all.
the pop up window comes up but doesn't play.

Ok, I have gone to the site, and you just have to answer a few more questions. I see that your having trouble watching videos from inside your browser. If the popup does occure then it is not a popup blocker causing the issue. Questions 1, what internet browser are you using? If you are using IE then download FireFox and see if that works. If your using firefox, get the latest version and see if that works. Try IE or Opera to make sure that its not your browser.

Most likely it is the settings in your browsers advanced setting section not allowing steamingvideo or not having the correct plugin installed. Please try to be specific - when the popup comes up you said 'but the video doesnt start' well does anything else load? is the popup completely white or do you get the correct background and frame arround the video? Can you tell where the video should be? what do you see where the video should be? white? words? just the background color? These details and more will really help the situation. I am trying to help you but your not giving details enough to provide much help and when i asked for more you basically repeated the first post again.

Just understand that "it doesnt load" tell us nothing when physically seeing the problem is a big part of solving it. I might be able to solve the problem in 1 minute in real life, but over the computer I need you to be my eyes and ears.

i use Firefox but i got ie and opera. The video thingey the player loads but not the video. The player loads.

With opera and ie the video works
but the video doesn't work with firefox?
Any add-ons i need to download to get it to work?

Traditionally in firefox when a plugin is missing you see a white background with a green puzzlepiece that says 'missing plugin' or 'plugin required' and you click on the piece and it loads. It may be that the plugin is disabled? You should be able to check which plugins you have and if they are enabled. Have you upgraded firefox? Can you specify which version you have installed specifically. Help about.

PLUS,.... Opera pwns. Why user anything else? I <3 opera but most people dont liek it so i by default tell people to switch to firefox.

Alot of things about opera are great, alot of things about firefox are great, IE exists. So anyways

All I can do at this point is assume that you dont have a problem anymore. You are basically refusing to answer my questions, refuse to give details, and your last post indicated that you upgraded firefox, but it doesnt say if that fixed your problem or if you still have it. Untill specified otherwise I will assume your happily watching videos.

If your not, I will be glad to help you further - as soon as you stop holding back information. please do not expect me to help you if you come back and say 'it doesnt work'. Not because I'm mean, but because there is NOTHING I CAN DO to help you even if i want to if you refuse to give needed information. Just like your doctor cant help you if you call him and say 'i dont feel good' and not answer any more questions. Watch Jerry Maguire ~ help me, help you.

Untill then - have fun watching those videos - I assume you are able to.

lol
see it is hard to explain. like the video if you go to wwe.com and click some video it is a silver box that opens. Well it should be buffering and stuff but it doesn't it just doesn't try to do anything. but on opera and ie it works fine. Now what add on do i need to get for Firefox. I am going to look for some and see what i find and if it works i will tell you. All i can say right now. the video pop up opens and it doesn't play with Firefox. If you need any more tell me i will try and give you that part.

Those two pieces of information would help, as I have already asked them. You might want to search for the windows media player 11 plugin for that website btw.

No, you started a post in the tech talk forums asking if you should switch to opera or IE. That is your perogative but please dont complaine about how nobody is helping you.
