Tf2 idle program

I was feeling gutsy and ran tf2 with idler. The idler stops you from getting onto a steam connected server, You have to end the idle exe before you can play tf2 period (at least the latest version of idle client)

*gasp* well at least we know what happens :] I hope you don't get banned lol

I can't see how anyone could get banned for trying this, what if someone tried to start two instances of TF2 on their machine? Also it sometimes seems like I can't start TF2 instantly after closing this or TF2. Maybe it's Steam lag?

Oh noes 48 hours, try 800++ and not getting anything. Some people have been idling since the update and not gotten anything.

Let me clarify for you. The people with more than 2 hats are the people who idled 24/7 since the sniper/spy update. The people with 2 idled occasionally and were lucky, or idled a lot, and were right on track with VALVe's plan (1000 hours = 2 hats), and the people with one hat idled about 200 hours (like me), or were just flat out lucky.

Not really. Plenty of people have been idling since the update and have got nothing. *looks at deja* Don't know where your getting those figures.

I'm one of them. My younger brother got a hat within his first 2 days of play, and I've been idling since hats came out, and nothing.

try not to idle and play ... maybe you will get some maybe valve knows that people started idling and tweaked the whole system that they catch the idlers and secretly not giving items because they idle i tried idling don't got an item for like 24 hours of idle so i started playing and i got like 10 items in 2 hours ...

No.

Valve deffinetly knows that people are idling, they can't do ANYTHING about it though. No way to distingush a idler from a non idler.

That would be your bad luck, or you need to restart steam.

Wow... I can't believe my luck. 16 days of idling, 181 items, no hats...

I've got 400+ items, from the idle program and playing, and no hats either. I've been using the idler for a good few months.

These are the constants:

Every 25 minutes, the server rolls for you to receive an item. Every roll, you have a 25% chance that it will be successful, and you will receive an item. That means that on average, you will receive an item every 100 minutes. Every successful roll, you have a .5% chance of it being a hat. That's a 1/200 chance.

That means that you have a "100%" chance of receiving a hat after 200 items... Well, I have 400+, so I'm one of the unlucky few. According to probability theories, there's always the chance I will never get the hat. But fear not, fellow TF2 players. Computers cannot generate random numbers, so EVENTUALLY, we will get a hat!

getting hats is like trying to hatch shiny Poke'mon... sometimes it takes forever (Yes I went there Sykes) or you get super luck.

I have 2 hats, one was gotten the first day of the classless update and the next one was a couple days after on my first night of idling.

It's a random system.

Theoretically, somebody could get 5 hats in about 2 hours. Every roll is completely random.
