Folding@eGO team, round 2! (If you don't know what folding is, please read)

I believe he's using the console version. I noticed that when I first loaded it. Basically, the numbers are higher, but I think it's just a 1000x multiple of what the systray version shows (i.e. 1,500,000 console is 1500 systray). Pretty sure they're the same size.

I'm no expert but I think that's how it works. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also, someone tell me why I'm completing as many WUs yet am getting about 1/3 of the points of smiles... I'm doing normal and big WUs too.

What kind of setup do you have going? Let me know and I will give you a few tips to get more points....

PS: Leak-testing the new cpu-block today, if all goes well I will be able to start folding again tonight...

Good luck with the new waterblock, Smiles.

Team has hit 40 members, top 5,000 in rank, about to hit 600 WU's, a third of a million points. Milestones all around. So let's keep on keeping on and we'll soon be a seriously high ranked team, and help get the eGO name out there to that geek community.

Q6600, 8GB DDR2 800, Radeon HD 4850

I know it's nothing spectacular but the 4850 should give me ~2000PPD and I'm don't think I'm getting anywhere near that. I may just buy this dedicated folding rig I was pricing out on newegg. It was around $1400 but would be good for about 30,000PPD.

I installed it, put in my username and the eGO team ID. I hope its working o.o
This is a good cause :D

It really is!

After much tweaking, in about 6-12 hours a night I can do about 20,000 - 30,000. Which Im really happy about - especially since im using the systray version.

It's always nice to be apart of something like this ;).

Selfless acts of kindness!

With the quad core make sure you are using the smp client to take advantage of that processor. The SMP clients can only use two cores, so if you feel like getting more points then run 2 instances of the client in order to use 100% of that cpu.

As for the 4850, I recommend using the console version of the gpu client and make sure you select "big" size and set the flag -advmethods

Running the cpu and gpu versions. Can we get this stickied so it doesn't loose focus?

If enough people are serious about folding and want to increase their PPD, even if it means spending hours tweaking, let me know and I'll make a folding tips, tricks, and guides thread in tech talk.

Isnt this like that thing on the PS3 where you can dedicate your downtime not playing it to help with cancer research or something?

I have a couple of the guys from work joining in on the fun - that's who LoneArchon (#2 currently) is. I'm going to have him sign up on the forums when he gets back to the office today.

Phroid is the other one - he should be starting within the next few hours.

Done and done. I also ordered a GTX260 (216) for my workstation at work and that's folding as of about an hour ago.
