yea they are being released supposedly mid Q4 2009 into early 2010. I am gonna say more like christmas into 2010. They will be coming out quite a bit of time after the ATI ones supposedly.

Not that any DX11 games will be out before H2 2010, and even then there will just be a couple.

ehhh who cares, all we really care about is the performance the video cards are bringing. Atleast thats what my main focus is on, the ati 5 series performance, i cant wait till these babies come out.

Dirt 2 is the first DX11 game and its prob being released right after windows 7
Who knows, DX11 might have catched on a lot quicker than DX10 did and supposedly AMD got to every big game developer according to that video of them demonstrating DX11. For all we know, this could be a huge hit unlike DX10 but we will just have to wait and see.

The only new graphical feature of DX11 is stated below.

"Support for tessellation, which blurs the line between super high quality pre-rendered scenes and scenes rendered in real-time, allowing game developers to refine models to be smoother and more attractive when seen up close "

Other than that, there are just a couple performance tweaks, nothing major. One of the reason DX10 didn't catch on is because all of the consoles are still on DX9, so many developers that made multi platform games didn't bother which DX10 and just used DX9 for all the platforms. This will still be the same when DX11 comes around. It will take a long while for an abundance of DX11 games. Expect DX10 to become a lot more popular before DX11 is even seen in more than 1 or 2 games that were made solely to advertise DX11.

That being said, I'm excited for the new nvidia GeForce 300 series solely for the purpose of more folding@home power. My 8800GT is still great for any games I play at 1680x1050, the only reason I still spend money on hardware is for folding.

the only thing that gets me excited about the new cards is the fact that prices will drop on the old ones

indeed
then i'll really be able to play any game i have or want to have at high res high settings high fps

ehhh i like the new ones because of the performance increase they bring. DUDE 1600 stream processors in a 5870 and 5850. Thats how much is in the 4870x2 and these are only the single cores. Think about when the 5850x2 and 5870x2 come out. 3200 stream processor???? think of the graphical horsepower these monsters are gonna have. I just can't wait till the benchmarks still rolling out. Maybe we will finally be able to play Crysis maxed without buying multiple GPU's

Expanding on what FreakingHell said (I think I mentioned this before), I recall hearing that most features of DX11 will work on DX10 cards. This means that if Microsoft plays their bytes right, DX10 cards oughtta be faster under DX11. We'll see.

It's nice to see new stuff, but I'll be sticking with my Toxic 4890 for quite awhile.

By the time a good majority of games actually use DirectX 11, I'll be ready to upgrade. But I'm sure it'll be another year down the road, at least.

yea i am giving it a year till the majority of games start using it even though developers have had the chance for a while.

If you watched the video of AMD showing off the DX11, their is this feature which enables them to increase FPS performance while looking amazing.
