Please, stop using the BB. Extinguish a team mate today.

I love pyros on my team that actually ambush with the backburner and will get behind the enemy team, they are credit to team and don't annoy me at all.

What really annoys me is pyros with the regular flamethrower that just have no idea about airblasting out fire.

You can't really fault them though. I mean, I know I don't keep up to date with update notes. The only way I find these things out is when someone tells me. Just because you play a game doesn't mean you have to follow it religiously. Ignorance is legit in this scenario, at least in my humble opinion.
 
I found this out recently too :D but only because people yell it out during games

For no other reason than the fact that you used the phrase "are debt to the team," I commend you. A clever turn on the heavy's phrase, I love it and will now use it as much as possible.

Also, I do agree. Backburner is simply underpowered compared to the utility of the normal flamethrower. If it suits your style, great, but the CB pyro simply is so much more fun and has greater utility. Gotta stop that uber? CB them. Gotta stop that rocket from critting you in the face? CB it. Wanna kill a soldier with that same rocket? CB it. (Sub demo and "crit nade" in there if you'd like.) Gotta put out a teammate and save his life? CB him. Gotta bounce a flaming heavy or soldier in the air for a second so you can disorient him just long enough to pull out that axetinguisher and humiliate him? CB him.

I could go on.

Wanna crit from behind? I guess get your backburner out. -yawn-
 
It would be cool if the backburner could shoot shoot gasoline onto the ground and when it ignites it would leave a wall of fire for maybe 20 to 30 seconds. This would encourage the pyro to funnel enemies into an area to ambush them. The gasoline spray could also be sprayed on players and when ignited, the after burn would last 2x as more as a regular flamethrower. Gasoline spray could cost maybe 50 to 75 units of ammunition. The direct fire damage could be toned down but if fire is on a gasoline coated enemy it will do the same damage as it's counterpart, but twice as long as said before. Now this would make the BB worth using. :P

BB totally fits my play style, i love killing like 3 people from behind in Turbine's vent almost instantly, and dropping off the balcony and doing it again!

I can see why people don't like BB users that don't ambush, but reg Flamethrower is for a different play style than the BB. No need to say "BB is for pyros too noob to reflect arrows/rockets". Both are deadly in skilled hands.

It's the truth though. Regular pyro noobs run around never using CB, or using it terribly. BB noobs run around and try to "ambush" people head on and pray for lucky hit-box glitch crits to get a kill. Good players, however, are completely different in both cases.
 
bb pyros are usefull too
if you play the regular pyro "hide n flame your ass" style
but if you wanna have more activity in btl you should use normal one and mass CB
but imho normal one is better too
 
CB has too many uses for me to give it up, i should try BB sometime, but i don't think i wanna.
 
with CB you can throw a uber medic away from his uberpartner (ubere'd)
and with BB you cant
you also can defend CP's better with CB e.g on gravel
you can just blast em off the point, and get easy kills :D
if you flame em before you blast em
or just stop soldiers and demos to shoot you down from C
CB is the perfect defend for gravel

i like taunting teammates when they are one fire and yelling to be extinguished. i get a good chuckle daily taunting while they burn. try it sometime. lol.
 
lol im one of the few people, who goes out of their way to extinguish burning teammates.
the regular flamethrower is a lot better than the backburner imo.
