Suicide Script

Noticed tonight a player kept suiciding as I was about to kill them. Who out there runs the suicide script to keep from another player killing you?

Second question, do you think it's being a spoiled sport to do it? Or, is it a fair tactic to keep from getting dominated/adding points to another player?

A suicide script? I don't know how that would work. Maybe having the suicide command binded to a key and being prepared for it, sure, but a script? I can't see it functioning.

i use the word script loosely. i would assume it is bound to a key to be pressed quickly in the event of immenent death. please excuse the vernacular that i chose to describe the suicide option.

i have this. well not the script, it's like kamon said, it's a command. if you type explode in console you will... well you'll explode. if you simply type kill you will die of a heart attack. (ok, i don't know that but your will die.)

and if you type in console bind "l" "explode" then everytime you push l while not in the chat menu you will explode

i only have it so when im in spawn i rev my mini gun as heavy, start firing in random directions like im going crazy and then explode. It's actually pretty funny when you see it.

as far as using as a tactic, it still hurts your kd, but doesn't help the other persons. and that's only if your at full health. if you've taken any damage they get an assist. So if someone wants to use it, w/e, like i said i only use it for fun.

If you want to bind a key permenantly, open this file here in notepad:

<Steam Folder>\SteamApps\<account_name>\team fortress 2\tf\cfg\autoexec.cfg

And add the following line:

bind <key> kill

OR

bind <key> explode

Replace key with, of course, the key you want to use.

Kill will drop your body to the floor, and explode will... Well, take a guess.

so you use it as a goof but not to keep your k/d ratio high/low or as a tactical advantage to keep another player from getting points off your death.

no, like is said you have to half full health in order for noone to get credit for your death. and it just might be my attitude, but if i have full health, i'm fightin. also if im about to die im going down swingin. not blowing myself up.

I've done it with Demoman using his Pipebomb launcher taunt. Usually entertains my teammates at start-up. It doesn't really effect my K/D though, since when I play Demo, my kill ratio skyrockets over death ratio.

So broken. heheh.

Yeah seriously this is pointless. If I'm alive, I'm taking SOMEONE with me. I've killed up to 4 of 8 players by myself even with less than 50% health. Now I must admit, before they added suicide assists I used to do this all the time
