My computer is not made for gaming its just a regular home computer. The only thing or things I know I have on it are NIVIDIA GeForce 7100/NIVIDIA nForce 630i. I have no idea what helps fps so if you guys know anything about Graphics/Video cards please tell me what would be better for me.

Im not looking for REALLY high fps just more then 9 fps on tf2.O.o(as you can see in my sig)

I range from 9-19 fps on tf2 and I get around 20-40 on Cs:s.
So if you guys have any suggestions within the price range of 50-100 bucks it would help me out alot.

Thanks.

well if your pc has a pcie slot you can pick up a geforce 9600 for under 100$ which will give you a good boost to say 60fps in tf2 at fairley high settings.

to make any better recommendation i would need to know the rest of your computer specs eg how much ram and how fast your cpu is

yea we need more info specs of your computer and yes most of the FPS is limited to your graphics card. The problem is, if your CPU is really really slow and outdated, you will bottleneck and not get the full performance out of your GPU.

An ati 4850, 9600gt, 9800gt, 9800 gtx+ will all give you a big boost in FPS and they are all around $100 or less

lol the 9800 GTX+ is like $130, not $100

ya for the price i would go in the 9600 or 9500 range both are cheap and can play all source games maxed out at a good clip

Well I'm at a friends house atm so I cant get the rest of the specs to you right now and I'm not going to be home for a few days. :/

100 bucks after mail in rebate

personally i'd open start/run type dxdiag and tell us the rest of your specs that way we can determine what would be best. if you have a better CPU you'd really benefit from a new GPU like a 9600 or something. if you don't, you'd be best off asking for money for christmas and buying a new rig in parts so you can keep some of the stuff you have and same some money.

lol uhhh idk MIR counts for me because i mean i still end up paying that amount since the MIR money just goes back into your bank.
I got a 1000 watt PSU and this thing is normally $170 but there was a $80 so i got it for only $90. It's called a Tuniq ripper and its impossible to beat for the price, it performs great too and is built with some quality stuff. Got good reviews also but its more than enough power for anyone.

i think ATI HD 4850's are about $95, and those are pretty good.
EDIT: actually they are about $115, so nvm. but i have heard good things about the 4830

yea visiontek are usually more expensive....im actually using one right now but it was the one that first came out and the cooler sucked so i bought an aftermarket one and overclocked the hell out of it. Im at like 730 core and 1140 memory.......i think i got a bad card though

my brother has that card, and i have a Sapphire HD 3870 PCI e Edition instead of AGP.
and another thought. HD is "spelled wrong" according to the spell checker they have here. you think they would have HD in there :/
800 core 1200 mem

you guys are all suggesting cards that take large power supplies to run (except the 9500gt), since he/she is running a "house" computer he/she probably doesn't have a very powerful power supply. I would look at the ATi 4650/4670 those 2 cards have a very low power cosumtion and they are fairly cheep and will handle tf2

good point. lol.
i would get a nVidia card so when you decide to uprage, you can have a dedicated PhysX card

Ive got a normal comp, new, and i get like anywhere from 50-110fps
