Firstly this would be a admin enforceable rule so its all about if you guys though it was worth it...

The US team on the Almaden map often have issues capturing A site, mainly due to Insurgents getting into the the buildings opposite the US spawn. This results in indirect spawn camping & can get quite lame
Whats peoples thoughts about the Insurgents being restricted at A site, say not allowed in the buildings opposite their side or say past the Humvees on A site? Would this balance it out more or restrict the 'spawn camp'? If it would it may balance out the first part of the map more & result in a more enjoyable playtime for the US team.

if you play with a competent team then you should have no problem

although it is HIGHLY obnoxious, just get someone to watch the mosque hallway and you should be able to hold a few off till they can clear the buildings. that map is usually just whoever can put together the better strategy.

Almaden will be updated soon, so let's see what problems it solves, and what problems it creates.

But, for the current situation, my personal experience has involved me monitoring the insurgents in the buildings across from marine spawn. Seeing as how there is really only one route to A for the marines (that being crossing the street,) spawn camping is incredibly annoying because there is no option to flank. The only other choice is to go through the arch, which is just as, if not more dangerous because it requires crossing more open ground than the street.

I'd like to see a route from the marine spawn that goes behind the street, and around to alpha. perhaps that route can exit/enter near the road blocks near the Mosque arches, but INS devs haven't said anything about that. They like the street idea, but I heard that they are adding another building where the arch is.

I do not believe the problem to be just the fact that insurgents are inside that building, but rather when they pop out of that building and fire on the spawn exits. Of course, that usually only happens when the Marine team is performing particularly poorly. Yes, it is a challenge to secure Alpha. This game wasn't made to be easy for Marines especially on push maps.

If the marines can move quickly and work as a team, the map is quite balanced. Technically, it shouldn't be an admin keeping the insurgents out of Alpha Building but rather a SAW gunner or Sergeant.

Thanks for stopping by, though. Maybe you could fill out an application the next time you stop by the forums.

I agree 100% ,, its just how you play the game,, look at sinjar and dust2.. when you have marines working as a team and correctly they will plow over INS .

We have done it before, its simple to figure out.. PUB dont like to die when in marines.. if you play paintball and do walk ons... you usually get mad at the kids.. all scared of getting hit.. well you will never win if you are curled under in a ball not shooting back letting your team get better positions.. thats the whole point of a good team.

Scared people will never win, and will hurt your team.. its best to encourage them to come and join you push out..

:P

I third that APR, I really dislike the insurgents pushing up so far, but it is the marines fault if they aren't able to cap Alpha. I think I better take a quick sleep before I try and explain more into this, or else I won't make any sense...

Although I agree with what your saying, It very hard to stop an entire team from doing something. And when the insurgences do pass the buildings, they are forced to stand in the open, where as the marines have multiple objects to hide behind.

One good way to think about this,, is compare it to karam.. when you have INS pushing but getting owned by marines.

Yeah I guess, but in Alamaden its a small killing window you have to focus on... Karam is a larger field so you have to constantly been aware of whats happening around you or else an insurgent can sneak up on you. Alamaden is a bit harder for someone to sneak up on you with all the fire on the road and constant insurgents camping hallways and stairs. I don't know I like both maps and don't mind either side (marines/insurgents)

My suggestion for INS map makers or eGO would be the house on the far right (that snipers can stand in and shoot from)..be turned into a a stair way up to the second marine spawn. A door that only allows you to enter that section of the upper alpha building could be scripted to open before alpha has been captured.

Marines would get access to windows, the balcony over looking A and the drop down section they get, i think that would balance the teams more than enough.
