New eGO Server

Hello eGO members,
I would just like to request a type of server that pulls tons of people, and is extremely fun (I know this server pulls alot from personal experience, my server averaged 22 players, this was with no recruiting or any effort to get people in-game.) The server I am talking about is a 24/7 tc_hydro server. You might ask, nobody even plays that map, why make a 24/7 server running it? Because no servers play it. People love hydro, but with very few servers running it, they can't show their love. Just my two cents if we were planning on switching a few servers up.

I believe we used to have a hydro server at one point. It might've been in the rotation on Valve Maps, I'm not sure as I wasn't part of eGO at the time, but I did play on the servers occasionally back then.

He's actually right though. You don't have to play the map or the server. Hydro is a marmite map. Love it or hate it. Those who love it need a safe haven to play it, somewhere 24/7 alot of hydro servers have players in them. It's a good idea, I dunno how far it would get. Your best bet with something like this is to PM some leadership for TF2

Half the time they'll be empty and most other times they'll only have a few people on. Drops the server rank right into the tank.

With our highest 10 ranks lower. I think this is the proof (and the only 24/7 hydro I can find out there, it seems to be on rotation more than anything)

EDIT THE SECOND: My point here is, maybe if we had less servers, the tf2 population would be condensed into keeping a littler amount of servers fuller - longer. If we had only a 24/7 Hydro, would you still play in eGO for the great atmosphere? I would.

The fact that it's a Euro server could help that, but maybe not. But, PMing a leader would be the best route if you want this to happen.

Euro server means there is no 24/7 hydro in US times, so surely the US players enjoy hate the god awful 120 ping they get in EU servers would play in a US 24/7 hydro. (Yey 200 ping on all eGO servers for me!)

Also: Wasn't Convoy crashing the servers? True though, it was fun.

I don't understand why we don't just make a rotation for maps like warpath, Hydro, and Cashworks, maps that some people hate, but alot of others really enjoy. It would be better in the summer than having 3 2fort servers. It would make more sense to experiment with what people like all the time. We should use the event server for public testing when we don't use it for events. It just sits there empty when we could be using it.

I agree, you can never ever ever win on that map! I have always gotten a stalemate when playing on the old server that had tc_hydro. :chair:

I'd play on it. Because Hydro isn't often in rotation I don't get to play on it much, even though I've been playing the game for 2 years.

Well I guess I didn't make it clear, but for the past three months (not anymore) I ran a 24/7 hydro server. This was ranked in the top one hundred, but never did level out (meaning the rank was still rising). It was constantly full, and if configured correctly, is extremely fun.

Among other things like cheat on their own servers and make it so that the host of the server wins no matter what. God I hate Lotus servers, I have had such a bad experience with them and I have refused to play on their servers since. As far as hydro is concerened, I hope they dont make that server...its a complete stale mate and not a very fun map to play on.
