Ambassador since I like to spy snipe snipers in Blackmesa and laugh at them at how they die to me =D

Revolver is an all around better weapon.

The Revolver does 40 damage (down to 20 at a distance and up to 60 at point blank) and crits at 120 damage. It has enough kick to it to take down most classes in at least one clip. It's aim doesn't decrease as drastically as the Ambassador and can get criticals whenever.

The Ambassador does 15% less damage, meaning it does 34. It crits for about 100 damage and it's first shot is highly accurate but the next several cannot critical and are inaccurate. Before the last change to the Ambassador I would have easily picked it because of it's ability to get 2 or 3 headshots in a row. This was a difficult task due to the decreased accuracy and should not have been changed to the first shot only. They could have at LEAST changed it to mini-crits when not fully cooled down. This alone makes the gun less effective (in my opinion) than the Revolver. This isn't even mentioning it's greatest weakness: it's slower firing speed.

If you were to get a single crit with both guns, the Revolver would have already done an extra 20 damage right away. Followed by two more powerful shots that are coming more quickly. This automatically makes the Revolver more practical than the Ambassador for spies fighting in the middle or long range. The Ambassador DOES serve it's purpose in the close to middle range (if you have the ability to aim well enough to get headshots) but getting headshots is just too much of a hassle at a range.

I choose the Revolver because I can backstab Heavies, Soldiers, and Demomen. Letting me fight Pyros, and Scouts at a range. The other classes are equally at the Spy's mercy. (maybe outside of a good sniper. Who is still at a major disadvantage against a Spy close enough to use his primary weapon effectively)

The Ambassador was my favorite weapon before they forced crits only on 100% cooled shots.

Revolver, ambassador is good if you have insane aiming skills.

It's going to be a short time before Frisky shows up and condumps his literary thesis on the benefits and uses of the Ambassador, so I'll save a little time and say I agree with everything he says. :D

Seriously though, if I'm ever in a position where the revolver would have saved my hide, I could probably just as easily cloak and hide somewhere to stab someone more important.

Protip: If you're going for headshots, reload after every shot. The cooldown and the reload time generally sync up, so its a good indicator of how fast you can shoot while maintaining headshots.

Revolver. I chose it because it makes the Spy a more versatile class, and can get them out of some sticky situations. The Ambassador is not a weapon to use when under pressure, since your aim will not be as good. And no aim = no headshots < Revolver.

Ambassador eventhough im not i very lucky person my mouse slips and aims for the head

Smart sniper always has the advantage over a spy (because he's using jarate).

I accidentally picked ambassador, but all the reasons that Bwoods listed make the revolver vastly superior. The Ambassador just has cool factor going for it really. You may ask why - because nobody without cheats has the skill to reliably headshot a target more than twice.

Yeah, but the revolver gives crit headshots and its not 25- damage + slower fire rate.

The revolver does not crit upon headshots.

That depends heavily what type of spy you are, doesn't it?

If you're playing in a conventional way, with the goal of sapping things, getting behind enemy lines and such, the revolver is likely the better choice. You'll mostly be using it when you're in panic mode; oh god, they found me... FIRE FIRE FIRE!

In this case, your aim likely won't be as good.

However, if you decide to go unconventional, and be a 'battle spy', namely rushing people with the gun, taking opportune stabby moments, and cloaking only when necessary, then the ambassador will be the better choice, due to the more relaxed nature of your aiming.

Ambassador, 2 reasons. Love the layout of it, and the fact that i love scoring headshots with it. :)

LMAO, how did you know. Perhaps cuz you have been on the other end of my ambassador :P. Well in my opinion its like this, as a spy you objective is to sneak around and take targets out without letting them know your around and without getting yourself killed right. Best way to do that is with the ambassador as you will see in my vid to come just how I pull this off. Just position yourself in a way that you can spot the engi and not let his sentry see you and 1 head shot and a body shot and he is down, same for those silly snipers with razorbacks...sneak up to them, you can even crouch right in front of them and get a head shot and 1 body shot and they are down before they get their melee weapon out. Dont get me wrong, the revolver is still a good weapon...if you are horrible at aiming well. :)

It depends on the situation, if the map is a wide open map like Egypt 3, I often pick the ambassador to get behind lines and pick off engineers. Likewise, on a more closed in map such as Dustbowl, the revolver is by far the better choice.
