If you end up getting the H50 let me know how it works out for ya. I am thinking of putting one in my next build.

Neither, any HDT cooler is great.
Which means any cooler that the heatpipes directly touch the CPU for maximum heat transfer.
Check out the Xigmatek Dark Knight cooler.

HDT is just a cheaper way to make an effective heatsink. It is still not as efficient as heatsinks with perfectly flat bases(see Prolimatech Megahalems), but can be made for cheaper.

That was my first option actually. Then after I saw the H50, I kinda drifted towards that.

Between those two, I'd get the V8. I would seriously consider going with a Xigi or another HDT product though. The Dark knight works pretty well, assuming it will fit in your case.

HDT are best budget performance coolers. The megahalem is the best air cooler as of right now. It even beats the V10.
What i like about the V10 beside it cooling like half your motherboard and ram is that the TEC thing is pretty sick. It basically doesn't let your CPU go over a certain temperature almost. It might not be the best TEC but its atleast decent. The V10 basically keeps your load temps at a constant temperature even when your overclock which is pretty sick. I saw graphs of someone with an i7 @ 4.0ghz+ and his temps were like constant high 50's to 60 load.

TEC = insane power draw and condensation.

But yes it does cool well.

Yea i heard about that.......thats why the TEC on the Cooler Master V10 only kicks in at high temperatures. I saw one of the review sites, they hacked the TEC to run 100% all the time when it was in use......the OC CPU they were using was like 45 degrees load, it blew away the rest of the competition but it wasn't safe and i think they say it got a little bit messed up after doing it, like it would work but didn't work the same as normal. Was pretty cool though.
