so i just got borderlands (hardcopy) and it says
"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."
Uh. yea. i have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7100 (RC)
and was wondering how to get the game to work. because it works just fine on my brother's computer which is running Windows Vista Home Premium x32.

dunno, it says min requirements are xp/vista - but that game looks really sweet too...wow
i like the rpg/fps style games, well i liked stalker, haven't tried fallout 3

Run in compatibility mode for XP?

And make sure it installed in 'Program Files (x86)' folder

Oh okay, sorry.

I had the same problem in Grid but I can't remember at all how I fixed it :/

Have you tried running the setup.exe file backwards compatible to vista? Does that make any difference? Also, make sure you're running it as an administrator.

Usually when this error pops up, a program is the wrong version for your OS. Possibly they are marketing x86 and x64 separately? Does it say anything about 64 or 32bit on the box?

if none of this works try contacting the company (via phone)and asking them what to do.
