More Reason To Hate IW

I lol'd at this

Since we cannot kick people in ranked matches, how will we stop hackers who get past VAC?

A
Our goal is to ban hackers from the game.

Because VAC is sooo pro active, unlike Punkbuster that never kicks anyone period.

ignoring iw.net, is the pc version a direct port of the console version?

no, pc has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

facepalm

the only way any of you will be able to effectively do anything is by NOT buying the product, until then, they'll basically do what they want

don't like it don't buy it

<-- Isn't buying it.

I still feel like I haven't wasted my money on this game. Glad to see in that interview that PC users are still going to get the game.

I think with it being on Steam is one of the only good calls they've made.

I'm so disgusted i can't even comment.

it was hilarious how half of their answers to the questions was "trust us, it will be great"

I just dont understand why they touted mouse control as a feature, what else would we play with. Ten bucks says modern warefare 3 uses a controller for the pc to keep it equal to the console version so they really dont have to do any work.

It really doesnt matter what they say, at the end of the day, tons of people are still gonna buy the game.
And thats all they care about.

Also reducing the server size is probably one of the only ways you could possibly make COD4's multiplayer worse.

I respectfully disagree. I have cod4 for both the xbox and PC and the only feature I like is that it is easier to snipe with a mouse than control. For a majority of the maps, I find that more than 18 people to be too many. When I play on a 32+ player server this is my routine: Spawn, get killed by a frag, Spawn, throw a frag to get a kill this time, die by a frag, and repeat... On the xbox i did not have any of those troubles, because as IW has said, the game is balanced for the smaller amount of people.

I agree. 9v9 is plenty enough unless you lack the skill and need to throw random nades every time you respawn. Team Deathmatch on COD4 was...a headache when I played it. 54 people on Killhouse??? For some reason people actually play it. Then, I discovered Search and Destroy tactical servers and it was alot better, for me.

TBH I would have to agree too.

Main reason I stopped playing cod4 was because of how spammy it felt. It dosen't take much skill and thats the main reason I play FPS's. I even hate playing on higher than 28 player CSS servers because it is just too much luck and dieing because of the numbers.

Games are ment to be tactical/skillful. Not spam fests.

I honestly don't think this is IW so much as it is Activision. IW has always been a proponent of PC gaming, but if you've been looking behind the scenes as well as at the TreyArch deal its clear Activision is pulling more strings than they should. I think if IW had full control, this wouldn't be happening, its kinda sad to know that a company would do this though even if it is Activisions fault I would've hoped that IW would fight back. I don't hate IW, and I actually care about the single player campaign so I may buy it when its cheaper. I'm mixed on the whole subject. If the game has some quality in the SP mode, I'll like it but I'm still pissed about what they are doing with the MP but I guess I'm a dinosaur because I value a true SP campaign over multiplayer and miss the days when people crafted great SP campaigns. CoD4 wowed me, while yes, it was short I could tell that IW crafted a great SP campaign and I didn't even start on the multiplayer until about 2 and a half years later.

Well I'm not going to say anything until it's released, but I don't have high hopes for the PC version of this game based on their attitude.

I liked how the mentioned that consumers take matchmaking for granted, I quit XBL because of matchmaking.

Well I won't be overly critical of the multiplayer until I've tried it. I am still getting the game, mostly for the Singleplayer and Spec Ops mode. I've been largely unaffected by the multiplayer controversy because I never really enjoyed COD4's multiplayer (because of the spam). But I will give it a try :)
