Dragon Age Origins

I've been playing since 9 YESTERDAY morning :X lollll, I did eat though. Time just flew by...

Elven Mage xD I wonder if I made a mistake maxing out Earth, Frost, and Lightning :X I hate when skill choices are set forever :(
 
I can't kill the ogre dude in the top of the tower. . . Keeps grabbing my men and killing them. . . I now have two char's stuck on him. Kinda embarrassing.

Try casting blizzard + tempest....

What classes are you playing as? I used some of my melee guys to bait him and cast freezing spells to slow him down over and over again while keeping him on the move and away from my mage. That + lots of potions got me through it. Make sure you are utilizing all the skills your party members have as well as strategic positioning and the tactics menu. That was a very hard fight.

I'm terrified of casting those spells, there are niche situations where I can (far away rangers and magi). Other than that I damage my rogue and warrior :(

What kind of armor do you think my warrior/rogue should have? I give my rogues leather, and right now my warrior has heavy armor, IDK if i should give him medium to lower fatigue.

I think this is the best game ever made =\ Maybe I just love RPG's, but I highly doubt any game is as deep, interactive, and polished like this. The story telling is amazing, it's like I'm actually in the world because I can HEAR every conversation, instead of reading a ton of text for EVERY single thing. I even have feel myself caring about the characters.

I appreciate how much BioWare put into the game, all the voice acting must have been hard work. To me, they are tied with Valve now for my favorite and most caring developers.

Edit: I feel like starting over now that I have a decent understanding of game mechanics(Tactics menu confuses me a little though, so many options.) so I can choose a better combination of spells for Crown Control and Damage. I've already spent 30 hours into the game though :( I try to do as many side quests as possible :P To make the game last.

Is it possible to have a mixture of Damage, CC, and Healing? I'm like level 14, 15, or 16 right now, Can't remember lol.

I like the cone area of attack powers for crowd control - particularly freezing as it gives me time to backup and get farther from the front line. I put healing on Morrigan so that I can focus on mainly offensive and have her casting curses/healing. I have heard the fire tree is powerful, but I don't have any points in that. I'm going lightning/cold right now.

Now I want this game more than I did before, which was more than just a little bit. I gotta come up with some cash to buy this game... Perhaps it is time to sell my Warhammer 40K Grumlok and Gazbag model on ebay...

After reading a lot of the posts in this topic i feel the same way ahahhaha
I just got back from the bank...so I am just waiting on the check to clear now lol
 
the max level is 20 i beat the game once already with my human mage, gone through all the starter origin stories and now is playing a human noble rogue this game is awesome cause the story is never the same and your choices change the story

I'm sorry what?
The people who made this game are behind such classics as Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate, both of which are huge win. They also made SW: KOTOR & Mass Effect and are now making Mass Effect 2.
This is one of the best RPG's I have ever played, and ever will.

I'm a Rogue/Warrior. and I try to use any of the spells, but my caster won't do them, and then does the flaming weapons thing. :(

I almost killed him when I gave all my guys ranged weapons, spread them across the room, shot him once with each, moved the one he as attacking, and then rinse and repeat.

Also, 1 crippling shot + two shield bashes = Stun.
 
yay, Beat it xD I say this game is a 99/100, 99 because I think they could have gone a bit more in depth with the relationships like a lot more talk scenes about their feelings, and at the end maybe something about how they spend the rest of their lives together. Oh well, still the only came to ever get me to care so deeply about the characters. I feel depressed though :(
 
Gotta give it props for having Claudia Black as a smart mouthed, self centered, cleavage bearing black mage too. That always wins.
 
I'm more of a fast paced Mass Effect kinda guy. But hey, it's been getting good reviews, might as well check it out before judging it...
 
if your group likes u enough u can engage in personal side quests such as killing morgiana's mother flemth who turns into a dragon which is cool. among other ones and even have romantic relationships with the any members of the group

Ummm yea it is real time , its crazy to play it in real time because of all the stuff happening but you can either pause it periodically to make decisions or real time it out... just know if you do play real time your prob. going to die....
 
i play real time and i dont die i take my healer and let the rest do what they do best KILL

i am already well into my third playthough and i started all 6 origin stories as well
