I've seen this wayyyy too much.

But, one thing that ignores me about TF2... is when I see a spy or sniper or scouts in a game doing nothing. or even when a team stacks 7 pyros...

I mean, sure go ahead and play the class you want to play. But when its 16v16. and the team I'm on is getting destroyed... and spawn camped.

The 2-3 spies that just sit in the corners waiting for the chance to back stab 1 person and instead miss, because they're going against a huge team of pyros, soldiers and what not, or the 2-3 snipers that are sniping from inside the base, and not hitting anyone.

Switch to a helpful team class. Medic, Demo, Soldier, Heavy, anything.... and spam outwards. Thus way, we can actually push out and stop being spawn camped. Once the team pushed out. Then switch back to whatever class you want to play.

I've seen so many useless spies that it really annoys me. When its a game when each team is pushing back and forth, go ahead and choose the class you want to play. But C'mon.... be a team player when your team needs it.

Team Fortress 2 is in the end... about the TEAM =]

Its not My Fortress 2. is it? :chair:

Spies can be useful too. So can Snipers.

Depends on situation with Snipers tho. On Mesa, a Sniper can easily clear/stop A alone from far range and fast.

Spies can take out sentries if they know what they are doing.

But indeed, if your team has 4 Snipers and you are one of them, changing in to something useful like a HEVI WEPONS GAI, can really help your team.

I totally agree.

But I'm talking to the spies and snipers who love playing it, but not necessarily good when their team is being dominated. You can go back to practicing the classes you love when your team can hold itself.

But when you're team is being steam rolled, and you're not much of a help. Switch to a useful class. At least until your team is not being rolled.

There's no I in team, but there is a ME.

I usually play medic. But when I join a team that has two medics already I will pick a class that is less represented. If I join a team that has six or fewer players I will pick a class that sends serious mayhem downrange. Stepping out of your comfort zone (or class) once in a while can be a good thing. Try it. You may have a lot of fun.

er.... i dont know how this relates to my post. but i'm glad you play medic.

I was just telling people that Team is first. and people being not productive to the team needs to.

I play all classes. Some more than others. But for the most part, I like all classes. and they're all fun. Its just that in certain situations... the weaker classes ie. scout/spy/sniper arent much use when the person playing them isnt doing much.... ie. spy sitting in corner for minutes waiting for a backstab kill.

it doesn't matter if someone can play sniper so well, they can no-scope a guy from a cross the map while running around like a MAD MAN... if you don't care about the team, you're going to be the one gettin killed!

the point was, if your team needs medic, BE A MEDIC. if your team needs demo, BE A DEMO. help the team, THEN you can switch to a class that you like to play.

Class doesn't matter (to a degree). Ability does.

I will argue this to death. Sniper is a very useful class, if you know how to play it.

Sniper is just as useful as a demo if played well.

Yay!!! Someone finally brought this up!!! :D I completely agree with you FeatherFrog!!! I main as a spy but will jump at the chance to help out the team!!! I will even play the dreaded engineer if need be!!! Because without them people walk all over your intelligence and capture all your points!!! There are even some times when your turtled so bad into your own 2fort base that spies and snipers can even get out! So that makes them situational to me :( But medics are always fun to play and anytime that someone is willing to put a TEAM effort into TF2 I'm willing to help out because it's always more fun to be playing with friends than lone wolfing it up! Because even though you get that awesome back stab or those triple sentry saps or awesome head shot....who's there to high five you in the end? A little friend called loneliness that's who :( I always enjoy giving my medic a good ol' high five when we mow down 3 to 5 sentries in one uber as a heavy :D

id take Deja as a spy over a medic/heavy combo, any day of the week....

Plus i guess you never seen me play sniper, since it got kinda boring to me...

I don't know how much I agree with your assessment FeatherFrog.

If someone's a bad spy (relative to other players), the team needs a medic/demo/whatever, they might not be the best at those either and you've got the same exact problem as before. Maybe the Spy is their personally best/most skilled class.

It's just a game. If a team has 16 Spys, OK, let's try and fix that. If the team keeps getting mowed down, try and make a class change and see what you can do. Rally someone else to help you out. I have no idea how good any of the other players on my team are with any other class. I'll trust them to make the switch. What I do know are my own strengths and weaknesses with each class. If I think I can help the team as a whole by being a Spy with three other Spys on the team, then I'm going to do that. Trial and error on my part, but I won't dictate how someone else should be playing because for all I know, they're trying their best.

Do what you can to turn the tide, see if someone can help you out, and just roll with whatever happens. Life's too short to stress yourself out over a video game.

there is also meat in team, and mate, and tame.

and am am is only used with I sooooo there is no I in team; however, I comes before the team.... unless asking a question about yourself
----
In pub I play to keep my kdr up and have fun. I don't care if my team is winning or losing. Especially not 16v16 servers

That is very true and I've seen it happen before and alot of people just left the BlackMesa server because 1. they were getting dominated. 2. spawn camped. 3. playing with a bunch of noobs.
