Has anyone here used the Razer Lycosa? I am in the market for a new keyboard and this one looks the best to me so far. I am undecided between the Regular and the Mirror editions; not sure if I would like a slick feel, or a grippy feel.

I am still open to other options as well, but I am looking for a gaming keyboard with a relatively small footprint, meaning no LCD screens, extra buttons, or anything else like that. No price limit per se, but nothing outrageous. Good drivers and back-lighting are must have features.

Yes i currently use a Lycosa for competitive and casual play. It doesn't use much power. It does have the media control panel at the top, as well as 3 different lighting options. The three lighting settings are all, WASD, or none lit. It also has a usb port that can power a mouse and save usb port on your computer. That about it is. I would also go for grip so your fingers dont slip. Its around 100 bucks so your call.
 
I got my lycosa because I didnt have room on the smaller desk I bought for my G15 & I love it. The rubberized cover on the keys feels different than anything Ive used before & is quite comfortable for extended periods of gaming. As far as the key clicks go, it is a little louder than normal, but I wear a over the ear headset so that doesnt bother me. Its a huge dust magnet though. The touch pad for the media controls will activate at the slightest touch (like if your headset cord happens to land on it) but works well for me. Afaik the only diff between the regular & mirror version is the mirror doesnt have the rubberized keys. I dont really have any complaints about the keyboard itself, had it about a year with heavy use (several hours a day, use it for gaming and college papers/research) and its just like the day I bought it. When I read reviews on it I heard a lot about the rubber coming off and the backlighting not being bright enough, however the backlighting is just like it was on my G15 and I havent had any rubber come off yet.

Well the thing is I have never had my fingers slip on any keyboard(and have never used one that is meant to be non-slip. I am worried that it will be 'too grippy' for my liking. I guess I'll have to go to Best Buy and see if I can try it out.

I do have one for over 1,5 years and it's still as new. The only problem I got with it is the fact that it gets easily dirty with stains on around the keys (parts without rubbery coating). Other than that it's just perfect and you can create 10 different profiles with different macros or turn off the "start" keys so you don't press them by accident during game.

PS The keyboard doesn't save you a usb port, it just extends it up to your keyboard. You can also extend headphones or microphone plugs.
 
I hav the Razer Lycosa. I've had it for about a year now. Great KB. It's funny to use my old Logi G11, the keys feel so big lol.
