I was diagnosed with swine flu last week, and im more or less over it today.

Not significantly worse than a bad flu IMO. (Thats not to say it was pleasant, bad flus can be life threatening.)

Song still made me lol.

At my school almost the entire senior class was out. (no we weren't skipping) The number of cases is growing and its really not funny. I had it and it knocked me out for about 2 weeks. I think its sad that someone would make a video about this.

First, I want to say that the thread title for this video isn't the best, but I think that you're kind of missing the point of the video. It doesn't disregard swine flu, or make it a humorous topic. The song simply explains how rough swine flu is, and it even mentions the importance of getting the vaccine.

From the CDC site: each year about 36,000 people (in the US) die from seasonal flu-related causes.

According to the WHO: About 4000 people (in the world) have died so far from swine flu complications.

So unless there is a huge upturn in deaths, the swine flu isnt anywhere near as bad as the regular seasonal flu that circulates.

No, it not fun to be sick, but its not the plague that the fear mongering media is trying to make it into. The only reason why its such a big issue is there is nothing else to scare the masses with atm & there is plenty of money to be made.

Said EXACTLY what I've been saying since the Swine Flu started.

I remember just a few months ago everyone thought if you got it, you weren't gonna make it, now a big majority of people have gotten it. Sounds like the regular flu to me.

I do feel sad for people or their family members who have it more serious than most though.

And the video is amusing, especially if you know the actual song.
