Thanks! The finish on the sides and the door was my father's idea. We covered it in joint compound and sanded it smooth. 2 coats of that, 2 of tinted primer and 2 of flat black. There are easier ways though. MDF, we used ply, and laminate would have been a couple of other ways to go.
Lol. This width is based off of the prefab controller I bought. 21.5 inches. Fits two comfortably. The height is standard-ish, in this case 73 inches with casters. The Depth is 38 at the widest point. Basically, with a little math it can be whatever size and shape you want. There are a ton of designs. So I took the info I had, and the things that I wanted and threw them into Sketchup. It wasn't necessary, but it really helped with visualization. I transfered (via ruler and pencil) the dimensions to the the ply and went to town. You're basically building a shapely box. Then there's room inside for all the stuff you need/want, monitor and its cutout, the marquee, access doors, and extras like fan placement, accessories, coindoor, etc...

Some of those builds really put mine to shame (I still love mine though. )
stuff we make ourselves will always be that way..there will always be someone who did it 20 times better, but that means nothing next to your blood, sweat, and tears.
That's why i'm so proud of my first ever computer build xD

Very true bro. Lol @ the blood, sweat and tears quote. Alright, so I didn't cry, but there was blood and sweat!

.Thanks! The first thing you can do is build a controller. Even a small one. The encoder/controller boards can be had for $30~. After that, buttons (with switches) are $2~ a piece and joysticks can be had for $10~. It could be a fun, less expensive project that could actually be used in the mean time.
