InfinityWard has started, finally.

Good. I didn't know that MW2 used VAC. Does that mean you need steam to play on pc?
 
yea pretty much....steam integration isn't that bad, can play with friends but VAC is useless without dedicated servers....IWnet sucks, they choose laggy hosts so many times its ridiculous and yes the hackers are annoying....they better add dedicated servers sometime down the road
 
It's only been 3 weeks since the release. That's actually a record for VAC.
 
I beg to differ. There maybe no rampant hackers by definition of using a program but there are sure enough glitchers and stand byers. None the less there is always a bunch of bad apples.

yeah the bad hacks get caught... but take CS as an example.. they will NEVER get all the hackers.
 
Even on console you have players using 3rd party tactics. Such as modded controllers.

because theres a sticky at the top of the page saying no MW2 threads and its been in the news for quite some time...

and in all my time playing on the 360, I have yet to encounter anyone who was hacking or did something, i.e. modded controller, that gave them an unfair advantage over me.

I havent seen a single hacker in 80 hours of playtime on the pc version either, they seem to be on top of things. They are taking a more agressive approach compared to like counter strike where there is a hacker around every corner, even in leagues. IW keeps doing things like ninja patching to make it harder for them to hack. Most of the people reporting hackers are people yelling hacks because they got killed by someone skilled and cant figure out how, seems like the new trend.

I ran into a TON of hackers before the first wave of bans went down. I'm not talking, "Oh, he killed me, he is hacking." I mean obvious aimbot, etc. The couple days before the ban hammer I ran into a hacker at least every other game. It was irritating.

I only played for a couple hours yesterday and ran into no hackers. So, I guess the ban did it's job, for now.
 
The no more MW2 thread thing was just for users to stop complaining about the no dedicated server thing, not this, i think.
