I think there are some things you should take into consideration when getting tked for the people the automattically go for the slay or burn and stuff.

  • was it on purpose
  • did he ruin a 3+ kill streak
  • do you already have a low score
  • was it long range or short range
  • was it seconds after you turn a corner

if yes to last one you should forgive because if he/she was camping on a hot area it was probally impulse or getting scared.

even if it was an accident but ruined a 3+ kill streak slap or drug or freeze dont kill him/her slay if it seemed on purpose

was it on purpose if you were excessively spawn killing and someone on your team just comes up and shoots you I would forgive because even though he was breaking a rule so werent you other wise slay

long range forgive if you know you were just a outline

if you already have a low score and its beginning or end of game forgive because IT IS JUST A GAME

this is just what I do when i get tked. also I look for apology 5 seconds at the most after if not I slay.

Well its really hard to punish ppl in insurgency for tk...
I'm tired of TK at low range cos they get in to my line of fire, so carefull guys... dont stay in friendly line of fire, most of ppl just dont think about it!

About those points u just said... it should really take in consideration.
Things that make me punish ppl is basicaly 2:
1- when killed by teammate when no enemy's close... like a "just respawn" situation...
2- when i see he tk others before or after me, and is just a punk...

Otherwise I just forgive, anyone can get scared, anyone can act with impulse but u must pay attention to uniform when long range, its a war simulator :P
You dont shoot without seeing in real life. Gonna loose 3 seconds recognizing who is that man comming? Loose it, loose ur life, but dont kill ur team mate just cos u dont pay attention :P

I pretty much always forgive. Or at most I don't forgive and just give a warning.

Personally i figure any punishment only hurts the team I am on to begin with.

The only time I have issues with TK's are intentional TK's (idiot in spawn etc) and as an admin they just get warned/kicked/banned :)

+1

I usually never forgive because I don't know how many other TKs this guy has or will have and I don't want to be the person that forgave him so the TK-system doesn't kick him. Sometimes, there are scumbags who make the TKs look like accidents (SAW gunner laying down cover fire who just happened to start firing right after he was tracking his teammate). You don't get a kill-cam or anything so all you can do is assume.

The only times I forgive is when it was very clearly my fault. Running through somebody or in front of somebody. When I do some crazy stunt and come running to the cap point from the enemy spawn. I usually just deserve it those times.

i usually forgive, if you get a non forgiven from me iv ether 1) hit the wrong button in the dark 2) you did it more than once in a short enough time period for me to remember

I'm pretty sure you meant TK courtesy....

TK curtesy is what Pimp does when he plays Almaden

Have you ever known Pimp not to play RPG on that map :P

I'm with Golden

Punishment hurts the team.

I'll use mic warnings... Well warning is the wrong word... Things like "let's watch lines of fire" or "Be clear on your targets" or "It's ok - it's Pimp" :P

Where I get frustrated is when I'm forward and I've called out my position to let my team know and I still get capped.

Like in Karem - I'll push up past B on the ramp before we secure B to pick off Marines at 3boxes or behind the bridge bunkers... I always call out - "Friendly on the front ramp - please watch your fire"

And then get TK'ed :cursing:

And then I forgive - it's all about the love. :chair:

I usually forgive, because if I end up TK-ing that person, they may forgive me in return. :)

I love when idiots walk in front of my SAW. I'm pretty lenient when I get TK'ed, if I'm sure it was accidental.

I hate when people run right infornt of your gun when they know its their and I say sorry but they dont forgive then it happens again and I am just fed up and im like dude I cant say im sorry for that you did that on purpose i had neg 50 on karam cause people did that or they are runnign OUT of the city and i shoot cause they look like a INS

This is why team communication is so critical. Anytime I am out in front of our lines - I'm continually calling out my position... IE "Friendly left forward bunker - please watch fire"....

Ewwww! Good thread, this has been an issue with me and my beloved RPG quite a bit throughout my INS playing days. If someone TKs me I'll wait about 10 seconds for a sincere, but truthful apology (depending on the circumstances)... When that 10 seconds is up I'll usually wait til the person gets to a nice open area and freeze them so that the enemy kills them and they loose even more points...

Alamaden... Where do I begin. :glare: I usually announce that I'm firing RPGs into the mosque... usually. I do admit that I tend to get a little antsy and might fire off an RPG into a group of my teammates... I don't think they should punish me for that though... Besides everyone should already know that I'm in that room and that they should take an alternate route.
I've had some odd shots in Alamaden though. I've shot an RPG inside the mosque (after announcing that I was going to) and it killed someone on the other side of the wall, outside the mosque.

Oh man this post was pretty lengthy... Sorry if y'all read all the way through :P
