Building a New Rig

Okay well I figured it was time for me to buy a new gaming rig to replace my 3 year old one since I when I built that Quad cores weren't readily available, does this build seem good? And if not so could you point out the flaws so I can improve on them? After all I don't want to waste money on any piece of junk, I want a good piece of junk.

The hardware looks like it'll run most of the current gen games, that's fine. I think what tiki's saying is you could build a better machine for cheaper. It just looks like you're going for the convenience of a professional build.

When it comes to building a PC from scratch, the enthusiasts not only look at which components benchmark better than others, but which sets of components benchmark better. It's a lengthy process but most people draw the same conclusions so popular builds that perform close to the best are already out there.

I'd get another 2GB of RAM and cut out the fancy keyboard and headset, and get 64Bit OS. If price weren't an issue, get it all. That's all that stands out, there is probably more.

Well I did build this computer myself with recommendations from friends, I want the new fancy Keyboard mouse and head set because I need NEW fancy and good gaming stuff like that.

I would like someone to name a better graphics card for me because I do not plan to OC my PC this time and I would like a suggestion for a better mother board that is DDR3 that can hold 6gigs of RAM.

THE best bang for the buck these days is the ATI 5850 ( whatever brand you like, XFX, HIS and so on ) If you can finde one anywhere, since they are in really high shortage these days they will be restocket the most places some time around the first jan. so depending on when your gonna buy it I would say go for the ATI 5850.. if you are an ATI guy and not a Geforce fanboy. It is totaly future secure, it got plenty of memory, high clock speeds, low temps, low power needs, DX11! and eyefinite ( not that I think alot of people will use it ) MB is a difrent thing all together it depends on what CPU your gonna use and what case you got, personaly I'm going for the ASUS maximus III gene and the core i5 when I get cash again.

THE best bang for the buck these days is the ATI 5850

I strongly disagree. The 5850 is still new, and being new the price hasn't dropped yet. The newest thing out there is never the best bang for your buck.*

In terms of bang for buck the 5750 is one of the top runners. It also runs DX11 and is half the price! It also doesn't guzzle as much power so you can save on a power supply (a decent 500W should be fine).

As for a motherboard using DDR3 and having a socket AM3 here are a few decent options:
If you only plan on using 1 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot you could look at this.
If you want 2 then look at this or this.

I was thinking in my head holy crap this is over-priced running down the list until i saw you included like a $300 monitor and a mouse/keyboard and such. But i still think its overpriced for those specs lol.

The CPU is ehhh alrite, will do you fine.

Ram is expensive as hell.

Mobo is decent.

GPU is alrite and will run most current games but i still recommend a 5850. A 5850 does work is all i can say for a decent price, $300, true it went up from retail $260 because AMD wants to squeeze as much profit as possible.

PSU is good, won't let you down as Corsair are really nice.

For the case, i say get a HAF 932, better airflow and its bigger....only $7 more on your configuration page.

In the end, i say you should build it yourself also from scratch, you can find deals and such and it will be cheaper to build.

I'm worried about the video card. You can get alot more out of that $200 you are willing to spend.

I don't know if you are still looking for help, but cyberpowerpc.com has very good deals on hardware. I will be buying in the near future, hopefully between Janurary and March. I've checked out some of the prices and I can get a Geforce 285 1g (I might go SLI), 1TB HD, 6gigs of DDR 1800(Triple channel), 26" Monitor and some other goodies for about $1700, but I think it might have been a little cheaper. I know everyone has a budget and as do I, but I wanted to pass you this link and hopefully save you some money. Goodluck and remember to do alot of research before you buy because it will pay off. I built my PC about 3 to 4 years ago and it still rocks.
