EVGA's Dual Socket LGA 1366 Motherboard *Drool*

I'm going to laugh so hard when someone tries to put 2 i7 920's in that.

I'd like to test out 2x i7 965 @ 5Ghz with a PhaseChange kit. :)

Oh yea, and 3x Micron SATA 6GB/s SSD RAID0 (did you know they read @ 355MB/s and sustained write is 225MB/s) WOOHOO !

Because the i7 branded CPU's only have 1 QPI link. You will need an Xeon branded CPU with 2 QPI links.

Didn't see the quotes.

But, seeing how the board looks like it's for gaming, it might not be the typical Xeon server CPUs that support it.

Core i9 maybe..

There is no core i9, it is the Core i7 980X.

And the Core i7 branded Gulftown will also only have 1 QPI link.

And the difference between this and dual socket server boards is that this board will support overclocking, and be damn good at it for that matter. It will still take the same CPU's as the other dual socket boards, the Xeons.

There is no way you could use 2 CPU's in a board with only 1 QPI link each, without taking a MASSIVE performance hit.

Hes correct lol

And yea as for the Gulftown CPU, its not i9 anymore and there are some people out there that have it already, those special people as usual.........i saw it in a screenshot of someone testing out a Thermalright Venemous-X and it seems ill...6 core processor with 12 threads

As for this mobo, will like to see how well it does, overclocking 2 xeons seems sick

Xeons aren't overclockers though. Maybe new ones are, but they never have been.

I don't know where you are getting this from. An Xeon can overclock just as well as it's desktop counterpart, depending upon batch, etc. The difference is usually Xeon's are placed in server boards, which do not support overclocking.

Intel did this already with skt 775

although i will laugh REALLY hard when someone tries to put thier $2000 i7 975 (x2) in it
