You obviously just started playing this game... I've been playing a long long time. Things get old.
I guess, only been playing for......let me see.......4-6 months, I'm not sure.

There should me a medical machine gunner that shoots health packs at rapid speeds, and if the med packs go far enough they do damage to enemy players.
Now that would be pretty sweet but that would never happen, lol.

I actually would welcome a modern DoD game. Not as a replacement for the WWII setting though, although as far as WWII games goes DoD is hardly all that realistic. I dont think it would much different if we played with AK47s and M16s vs STG44s and Garands.
Basically I wouldnt mind seeing another fork of DoD, only this time in modern urban settings with modern weapons. Keep the gameplay the same. I'm terrible at CS:S (played one of the eGo CS servers once and never got a single kill). If the gameplay was the same but with a modern setting I'd be cool with that.

hmmmmm, well if you were alive during the 1940's, WWII was very modern, the weapons, the technology, at least for most countries it was, sorry poland, but yeah maybe a pacific theater or the eastern front would be cool, but DoD is what it is and wouldn't be if it wasnt. 
I don't like the idea of a "Modern" dod. It would be like playing modern warfare. I think they should pick a war that hasn't been brought to games, or has slightly. My father was in Vietnam so I would like to see them modernize the weapons to that time period, but not to how things are today. They used different weapons in Vietnam so there still would be a big change. Different environment to play in, maybe not as widespread, but have an Alliance and a Vietnamies side for the teams. Sorry for all you nazi loves, but the US has been in every war so to speak, so they would stay.
