with so many new member's I was wondering if they are told to read our rule's, so many don't seem to know what is expected of them ingame.:O

I've read the rules and obide by them on a daily basis. I know there is a e orientation day coming up soon.

maybe a dods 'e' orientation is in need? we do have a lot of new people

Yeah I've noticed a couple of new faces (not Blindy or Neale) in Donner who raised some eyebrows with their attitudes.

SKIPPY!!!! PLEASE I'M SORRY DON'T TELL ON ME! ;) lol, you are just mad because I never let you dominate me anymore. Too good fo yo homie.

Hehe if anything I'm letting anyone and everyone dominate me these days.

The CS:S Divison can get heated up sometimes, espically the jail server. Another E orientation is in need.

You lil erich need photoshop!

Sometime bud tell me what you'd like for a spray or sig and I'll try and make you one that's not from paint haha.
Might take me a bit since school is restarting, but I'd do it for ya.

This is Sauma by the way....

Ok, STORMY made it for me. It's actually pretty good. I'd rather have a spray then a sig. I'll PM you on Steam whenever you're on.

Try this Friday, the 15th, Blasphemy.

I'm not sure that there's a real need for a DoD:S-only orientation, at least not right now, because there really isn't that much to cover that isn't in the clan-wide orientations. The purpose of those is simply to introduce e's to eGO, the various divisions, and some people (specifically in Leadership) that they can turn to whenever necessary.

Let's face it, Jail is Jail; no need to bash other divisions' members, because we won't be doing anything about them anyway unless they come over here. The reality is that if they don't show what we're looking for in potential admins, they'll never earn eG status anyway. And if they break the rules enough, they get banned. It's a method of weeding out the bad apples from the bunch.

So true.

Is something wrong with his sig? Huh? Is that what your telling me, that Photoshop is a better editing program than MS Paint-- ist that what youre saying punk?!?! :P

Yeah i cant help but agree with you all in respect to the problematic "e"s, maybe a friendly PM to some of our recruiters can help solve this situation. ;)

Love you Stormy!

Your work in Paint....not so much :P

If the e's just read the rules and follow our rules there is no need for orientation.

Being a recruiter, what could we do better? We all know that we shouldn't be referring riff-raff to eGO. We review applicants' chat logs, name history, ban records, everything about a player, and they are accepted/denied based on Leadership-defined standard operating procedure that the individual recruiters have little to no control over. We post the rules in acceptance threads, encourage the new recruits to read them, and implore them to ask any questions they might have concerning the rules.

This is a training issue, and it is an enforcement issue. When they apply to eGO they agree, by nature of their application, to follow our rules and regulations. The problem is most recruits don't read our rules before agreeing to them. Failure to read or abide by the rules is breaking the contract that they made with us when they joined. I don't have any sympathy for new recruits that don't follow our rules, and ignorance is not an excuse. In short, the zero-tolerance rule we have with our e's is a good one and should be enforced. Kick unruly e's, set the example, because there will always be more e's that don't read the rules.

What about adding another 'layer' of eGO membership, sort of like putting new potential recruits 'on probation' for say, 10 hours of gameplay?

So before they become full-fledged e's and get to wear the 'e' tag, they have to wear a different tag which clearly signifies to everyone that their application is being processed and that they are on 'probation', so to speak.

That way eGO members (and even pubs) can submit feedback on our forums, whether good or bad, from what they observe, and add another layer of quality control to the recruiting evaluation process. IMO, a misbehaving recruit on probation causes less damage (in terms of pub's perception of eGO standards) than a misbehaving 'e'.
