hey guys, firstly, thanks in advance to whoever helps me out here.

my brother just picked up a case that was pretty good, i decided, im going to build my first computer. so heres the specs for it so far that i have.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=17264687

changes, ARE VERY WELCOMED. if you can help me save some money, great. so please by all means, comment, and help me build my first good rig :3

cause i already have, so no worries there, what im looking for is mainly everything else other then the lights and the fans.

ram, cpu, video card, and whatever you can think of will be welcomed.

and one final question before i let you all do your thing, will the psu that i have there, be enough to power all the fans, lights, and mobo? if you have a better or cheaper one, please post it :3

ps: i keep forgetting, i also need a cd/burner drive, lol so a cheap one to go with that mobo is all good.

Your wish list doesn't come up, so I can't see the components. I prefer Lite-On drives as far as DVD drives go.

I'm also building a computer for my dad. I've bought the same RAM. In terms of GPU, I went XFX because I like their lifetime warranty. I would go for the Black Edition CPU. I'm not too sure about PSU. I went with the Thermaltake Black Widow 850W Modular. Having a modular PSU makes for much easier cable management.

Get a better power supply sure the one you have has 4 12v rails but only at 18amps, thats good if your running a 7800GTX but not any new ones. A 8800GT requires 25amps on the 12v rail. Plus are you really going to use 4 rails? get one with 30amps or more with 1-2 rails and you will be just fine.\

Just looked at the PSU singularpoint posted that one is excellent a little weak on the watts but for what your running it will be perfect. Plus the 12v rail has 52amps any gfx card upgrade in the future will run fine.

psu's and ram is what really gets me, i have no idea which ones to get, and your help with it is greatly appreciated, thanks.

if the psu singular posted is good, i will go with that and i really dont need 6gb of ram, so thanks for that, and also, i might keep the asus mobo, not sure yet. i really like the dark colors for it, and i also might want to add another vid card later on (for what reasons, i dont know lol)

so far, thanks for the help, keep them coming, im open to more suggestions :3

and also, forgot another thing, a sound card is what i also need, 5.1 is what im looking for.

for a mobo since you like those colours, do this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402
its pretty much the same but it has a better northbridge which is worth the added what, 10 bucks or something. and it keeps the look you like. its an amazing mobo and will enable crossfire for yourself if you want.
the 5770 is a great card and will work wonders for you, especially if you want to crossfire it and that OCZ power supply you picked will run it perfectly, even crossfire if you get a second. it actually has 72 amps on the 12v rail, much more than the corsair listed.
if you wanted to get a single rail corsair psu, you're going to want the one listed in my sig at least, if you want to crossfire later etc etc. but that OCZ psu will be fine, its pretty cheap too with the MIR etc so i think thats your best bet.
as for the cpu's you should definitely go with the 955: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674 if you can spend the extra money over the other, because it will be well worth it. if you wanted to too (it is so tempting) you'll be able to experiment with overclocking even a little bit with that card VERY easily, especially with that mobo.
and yes as for ram you do not want a x3 set, you only want a 2x2 for now because tri channel does not work with amd, they only run dual channel. So those ripjaws are very good but you may want something with a lower profile if you are going to get an aftermarket cpu cooler in the future
as for case fans, i highly suggest these cooler master fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103063 if you don't like the lights you can snip the wires going to it so they don't flare up, but they are an insane amount of air movement for the noise and price. its the same as the high end noctua fans but at a much lower price. i have 4 of these things in my case and 3 scythe slipstreams and they make a nice little hum all together, but man do they push air like CRAZY.

thanks, but the problem is, the case only holds i think either 60 or 80mm fans, not 120's.

and thanks junk XD

keep the, coming guys, i still have to save up like 2 to 3 months for the parts :3

whoa what, 80mm fans....what case do you have? links plox!

I think you should boost up the cash and pick up a 5850..... will save you in the long run.

its a pretty old alienware case, so i dont think i can find the link for it, sorry :(

and i might add a bit of extra cash for the gpu, but i still want to save some money, im not looking to build a monster, i dont want to overclock, or do anything like that really.

im a newbie to this, i just want one that wont lag much, plays most games fine, and also be able to multi task without worrying about slow down.

well alternatively you could get the mobo/cpu i have and possibly unlock one or both of the other cores, but thats pretty risky and not advisable to rely upon, haha
