300 or 350 w Psu

I belive its my psu.

Either get another psu from another machine to test in your machine to confirm it, or get a psu tester from Newegg or Microcenter . Does the rig give you any post codes ? Not sure of ur tech knowledge but post codes will tell you what the issue is with a series of beeps in a long and or short sequence with pauses between . Take note of this sequence and the gateway website should have a section to tell you the problem. I would start by googling your model number + post codes.

It could very well be several other things, start with this and let us know what u got.

It definitely sounds like a hardware issue.
I do think you should see if its the PSU first, that would be the cheapest thing to replace if its needed. (Most likely cause).
Another issue could be a malfunction in your motherboard.
Gateway is bad about putting CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP motherboards in their systems. If you have an extended warranty plan with Gateway, go that route. They replace most of the other hardware before they will admit its the motherboard in most cases.

(At no cost to you)

EDIT: As an afterthought, how is the cooling in that case?

Gateway and eMachines use Fox Conn motherboards most, if not all of the time. I wouldn't say it's cheap by any means.

Sounds like the PSU, and also make sure your motherboard isn't being shorted out by the case.

It dosent get that hot.
I was going to clean it today.
How do i see if its my psu?
Just take it out and put in another one?

Your dad def wasnt thinking very sjmart. just go out & get yourself a new power supply (min of 400w). theyre ultra cheap @ that wattage.

for trouble shooting you really need to start with the basics and make sure everything is plugged in properly. it could just be a lose connection somewhere that could be casing the problems. if you have cuts in your wires then that could definitely effect it, obviously, but you can repair it (i'd say temporarily) with connecting the wires, make sure all strands are touching and wrap it with electrical tape.
or just get a new psu if its too damaged

I started up the comp Normal.
Then i logged in then about 10-30 second later blue screen.
Hurry you have till about 3-4pm est to get this fix i have a beta to play.

Sounds like a voltage issue tbh...

However.. there are several things that cause probs like this...
