Mass Effect 2 allows you to continue your story from the first Mass Effect: if you've completed the first ME, you can access your saves(s) and select one to continue in ME2.

I'm trying to finish the first ME so I can continue the story into ME2, but am running outta time :(

I am getting mine midnight! I love the books and enjoyed the first comic.

I recently bought MASS EFFECT 1 of the ea store for about 5$ cause of a coupon i used and the game was already down to 9 something cause of the PROMO price. I am going to beat this one before I INDULGE in the 2nd one. Gives me time to save up the money anyways. So far the game is by far one of the best I've played in a long time, I imagine the 2nd one.

i finshed the first one a while ago but im not continuing my character into the 2nd one. Im making a new character for ME2

I just picked up the Collectors Edition at the midnight launch. Man the metal case with Shepard on the front just looks damn sexy.

i got this like 4 to 5 days ago (for the love of god, please dont ask me how, but my friend got it sooner, i know how to get it 4 days earlier too, but im not going to tell anyone how, just to clear that off first)

to put it in simple terms, in just two years, mass effect 2 has gone an extremely long way. everything is better. the battle system, the characters, the story, and the graphics, o man the the graphics.

it is going to get some time to get use to the controls again, because its in a new layout, but i think its for the better. two of the ones i keep having problem with mainly is the shift and space bar controls. they have been shifted and do the opposite from the last game now, which is shift is your squad bar and space is to run and also the action button.

you can change the controls, but i like this layout better.

im telling you, this game is worth the wait and money. i also bought a copy, and am going to install it as soon as i get it.

its like bioware sat on the computer and just looked on forums, sites, and boards, just looking at what people wanted, what they can do better, what new things they can add, and actually listened to the players.

it is simply amazing, one of the games that kept me on the edge of my seat in quite some time. and i mean quite some time, the last game that ever put me on edge was...... well i cant remember, thats how long it was ago.

i suggest you guys to save your pocket money, or get money whichever way you can (no stealing of course :p) because this game, is beyond what anyone could imagine. if anyone of you have ever played a metal gear solid game, the epicness and story telling is equal, no, im a fan of MGS, but this game could be better.

i rarely give this out, and i mean RARELY, but.......

Mass Effect 2 gets a fatty 10/10

no one could have done it better. kudos to bioware.

Looking at this game I might just have to fork over a few more dollars and pick up this game. The thing is I have never played the first one and would that effect how I feel about the second one? Or should I just go pick up the first one and play it through and pick up the second one?

Argh why does steam do this to us Euro's? It only unlocks here on the 29th :crying:

Oh well, I'm ready with my lvl 60 characters from last time, whats that you say? No, I'm not obsessed with ME :P

I never liked Mass Effect, but the second one just blows me away. Gonna have to go back to #1 and clear that and go back to ME2 with the save from ME1. :3

I noticed this one feels more geared towards FPS players. With the added sub machines guns and the feel of the game. Still has the elements of the first game just improved but I don't know. I only played after the first level.

Lame thing about it is any PC collector editions Ceberus codes are defective. Their forums are flooded. I hope they get a fix soon :(

Nice review! Can't wait to get home and fire it up.

I'll probably play first as soldier, and experiment with the other classes on any subsequent play-throughs

yes, i would recommend soldier to players who just want to run and gun, or if they are new to the game. and like any other rpg, this class is t easiest to play, i wanted to play as a engi and build attack drones, but they were just floating orbs of light that attack things, lol. pretty cool.

I'm telling you now DO NOT play ME 2 without beating the first one at least once. You will miss a major amount of storyline and side story information about. Unfortunately for me, I have somewhere around $10 and have not pre ordered the second one. So I must wait... and wait.. and T__T lol. ^^ I can always wait 3 months till my b-day haha

Everything you need to know is explained at the beginning of the game so you will not miss out on much if you go into ME2 without playing the first one. I did play the first one but caught up on the plot on Wikipedia just to be sure and I'm still getting the hang of this.

Initial impressions of this game are overwhelmingly good. I've only played about 2 hours so far, but I'm freakin hooked right now.

I guess you guys won't be seeing me for a while. :P
