The real reason laptops were invented...

As I sit in class with my laptop on the desk in front of me, I begin to wonder, is the only reason laptops were invented so I could post on the eGO forums while I am pretending to take notes in class?

Maybe I am going crazy, but this thin brick is definantly not useful for gaming, and its ability to take notes for any significant period of time without me breaking down and going online is minimal, so what other purpose could it have!!!

Please post the reasons you believe laptops (and high-speed wireless internet) were created!!!

(Just a note, when I am in class, my ability to hold a coherent conversation goes down the tubes, so don't be surprised if any of my responses are extremely random)

WHAT! Who told you? The laptops are the creation of eGO and were meant to be kept a secret! Of course laptops were made to go on the eGO site! WE made them for this purpose!

Well my laptop has basically become my main computer. So it basically carries everything; movie, music, documents...and all that fun stuff. Though it can't run any games made after 2003. So yay starcraft.

First of all, you can never be completely offline these days. Second, my cell doesn't have a data plan...

300-odd MB RAM, 1.3 GHz single core AMD (!), and 16-64 MB shared memory graphics, upgraded to around 600 MB RAM. I use it for schoolwork to this day. The hinge is broken, so the screen flops around and has to be leaned on something. Hey, it has Windows XP and Office 2003, I can type in notepad and Word just fine, that's pretty much what I need it for.

And hey, it runs Quake 3/Quake Live alright, although I don't currently have a mouse for it. Touchpad FPS = not good.

And this is indeed the computer I'm always whining about that I used to play CS:S on. 15 FPS was considered alright, on as close to minimum settings as tolerable (minimum except second-lowest resolution, which is some odd in-between size).

LOL I gamed on a touch pad for a year it was not bad but not the best. You get use to it... Plus you cant beat playing tf2 from bed
