Win 7 Steam Start Up

Well I'm using Windows 7 so no wonder there is a problem, anyways. I finally got to Steam to start up without giving me the BSOD (please don't ask for any info on it, I can't read it). I bought Bioshock 2 and then Steam froze up. I shut it down and now when ever I get try and start Steam up I get this:

Then it will eventually close. I've restarted Windows Problem I mean 7 but it still gives me that dumb screen. I have re-instaled Steam and I STILL get that.

I don't want to install any Operating System cause I spent 6 hours re-installing Windows 7 (IE Windows Fail) 9 times.

What do I do?
 
YES, everyone read this, I have the latest drivers installed, I check every week! That is the LAST time I say that.
 
ok try this, close steam, right click it, click troubleshooting comparability, click try recommended settings, click start program.

Both ideas just gave me a BSOD....and no it flashed too fast i couldn't read it.
 
Either you got a bad copy, or it's a Hardware issue. I've been using Win 7 since beta1 build 7000, and it has been nothing but 100% stable. I'm not 100%, but your problem could be a RAM issue. You may have a bad stick. The reason I say this is because you said Install failed 9 times. Most of the time when i've had Installs fail on me, it was RAM related.

If you want to be able to read it so that you can stop saying it flashes by too fast, do the following:

Right Click "Computer" -> "Properties" -> "Advanced System Settings" -> Click "Settings..." under "Startup and Recovery" -> Untick "Automatically Restart" under "System Failure"
 
There you go, or alternately you could type "problem" into the search bar and view problem reports and solutions -> view problem history -> everything you need to know is there ( im gonna guess the BSOD codes are not common so good luck but let us know what it says) .

Snuf makes a VERY good point , after nine tries and FAIL , it may very well be hardware related but not limited to RAM.

Try your copy of W7 on another machine... See how that turns out
 
well that works lol. The same problem has happened to me before (im a win7 user too) and i just opened the task manager, go to processes, and closed the process for steam. then i try and open it and it just happened to work

Not that I'm pointing any fingers or anything...but if "I" was asking people for help, I'd be all sugar and sweetness

I have zero problems with windows 7. I have had mine since early beta stage
 
Windows 7 seems the have the most problems if you did an upgrade from another OS (such as Windows Vista). I always buy full versions and do clean installs.

Clean install of 7 here and I haven't had a single problem.
