Hey I want to build a nice machine so that I can experience my gaming at a nicer quality. I already have hard drive case wires and power supply so all i need from you guys is, to tell me the best and most reasonable priced

Ram?
Video Card ?
Mother board?

right now i play on a dell studio laptop that has 4 gb ram intel core 2 duo t6500 @ 2.10 ghz with 64 bit vista
 
Honestly, it sounds like you just need a new video card. Your CPU and RAM are fine, but a great video card would greatly increase your quality of gaming.

Yea i have come to that same conclusion with one exception
I'm playing on a laptop and for some reason i cant find many external video cards for laptop and they don't seem to be worth the price from reading reviews posted online seems the best way to go is desktop

So all together that's $345 +free shipping!!I not going to get a new hard drive because i think the 160 gb thats already in there is more than enough because i have also have almost 2 tera bytes of external drives for school/work so just for gaming that drive should be ok i think please let me know whats a better deal than any of this items because im planing on paying for this stuff like wensday and i dont want to rush it because this will be my first time making a gaming rig! All the prices are from newegg and the cpu and mother board is from tiget direct
 
Ok couple words of advise since I build my own systems for me and my son

First ... dont get any motherboard with on board video, it will end up giving some kind of conflict or problem eventually ... usually sooner than later

Second ... Think about buying a motherboard set up for the type of video card you prefer to run ... example being my motherboard is an N-Force series specifically for NVidia products, it doesnt play well with ATI stuff though. My kids is specific for ATI ... cause he doesnt listen to me and wanted a radeon :p

Third ... This one is a biggie ... by a BIG power supply. 580w probably wont cut it long term with todays high power high performance video cards. Consider at the very least a 650w unit but personally I wont go less than 700w.

Fourth ... put your money in your memory and vid card .. the rest can be found on the cheap. I run dual vid cards and 4 gig of crucial heat sink equipped memory. That will do more to giving you high performance than anything else.

And last ... build it your self and buy everything on newegg ... you'll be able to build a better rig and have fun doing it and learning as you go. plus newegg rocks LOL :P

Your really gonna like the AMD black edition ... thats what I run and it performs great. mine came fromt he factory with a very very nice copper heat pipe heat sink and super quit fan assembly. Make sure if you do this to get good thermal paste, dont use the cheap crud it comes with, only cost a buck or two.

also pm me on here or steam ... I just happen to have this really nice Radeon X1900XT vid card sitting on my desk going to waste lol.

you will be better off with a card like this ... why? first more memory ... always a good thing ... but more important it is DDR 3 vs DDR2 better memory equals better performance so a nice step up for little money And there are 2 versions of this card ... my fav would be the one with the enormous fan, its quiter and moves more air and stays cooler ... all good things.

Also I checked the specs on your MB and it looks good. Take some time and read ALOT of reviews on that MSI model. MSI doesnt have the sterling rep that big powerhouse names like gigabyte or ASUS or saphire have. Dont know about the MB's but I wouldnt buy a MSI vid card personally. Be a good thing to read up on. if it pans out I would grab it ... has good specs and DDR3 memory is the way to go!

In fact make sure that is you go DDR3 on the MB you get a DDR3 vid card otherwise you will end up with a choke point on the vid cards meory bank which will hinder performance a bit. If you play at silly high resolution like I do you will notice it. Best to have matched system specs if at all possible. but it is looking like you can pop in under 400 bones ... not too shabby ... time for you to read reviews and do homework LOL.
 
ok i'm going with your video card selection since the mobo and ram are also ddr3
i don't know what that is lol but 3 all ways sound better than 2! and its still in my price range
hopefully i can sell some of my old spare computer parts online or at a local shop so i can invest some more into my machine

-any newest DOUBLE ATI graphic cards (1 gb + 1 gb) crossfire
-few terrabytes of harddisk space
-16 gb ram plus I will put 1 TB external harddrive for ReadyBoost technology in win 7
-4 monitors
-water cooling

so in the end i can run photoshop, illustrator, c++, insurgency, youtube same time haha

holy cow thats insane. as long as mien can run photoshop dream weaver and about 50 tabs on google chrome as well as game its good for me
 
I wanna build this computer in/on anything else than a pc case. maybe a custom made glass case? any suggestions? If I remember right Jason isn't getting a pc case either.
