For those of you waiting for the Fermi based cards, you may want to go ahead and pick up and ATI 5xxx series card. It looks like Fermi is going to be the next Geforce FX 5800.

not too surprised bout that, but it is unfortunate for the market. the market definitely needs the competition. hell with release of this news i wouldn't be surprised if ATI prices went up another 20 bucks

Yea, but he's been right about everything that's happened to Fermi so far.

We all know he absolutely hates Nvidia, but he's been far to accurate about the progression of Fermi to completely throw him out.

Not even close. he has been right on some things, but a lot of the stuff he has said about Fermi are not even close to true, as usual. He takes a small fact, and blows it way out of proportion and throws in a bunch of lies. there is always some truth, but it's not close to all true.

Could they be pushing back? I wouldn't be surprised as the 40nm Yields per platter are still low, heck I'm surprised ATI is pushing sales with a 20% loss per platter.

But on that note, Nvidia has begun sending some "Tune in on Monday" emails to a couple of people. I smell either Fermi is finally coming or they're pushing another portable solution.

Hoax. GTX 480 will launch in March or early April, no doubt about that. Nobody knows when widespread availability will be reached, but that's always been the case. I mean, the 5970 still isn't widely available either.
