I nearly exclusively play dust2 as it is often highly populated and under admined. dust2 has tactical capabilities, but overall the map lends itself as a meat grinder. I wouldn't conclude that it is a training server, and therefore I stand by my post. If the !guns menus were limited to m4,m16,ak47,ak74,l1a1 and sks I would be okay with it. But allowing excessive uncommon weapons would rob the server of all dignity.
 
I agree with yeti cause dust2 it is a very good map cuase it is very tactical and so we can learn a lot when you play on this server !
And cargo if we add !guns on this server if you are an us you will cant chose an ak but you will chose oly a gun of you team ! for example if you are an us you cant chose an insurgent gun! for that we must add !guns2 !!
 
Just my opinion, i think having this command would ruin the tactics of teamwork and weapon variety. If everyone had the same weapons why bother and try to plan a strategy. The game needs a balance of weapons to win. Its kinda hard to pin enemies down with m4 when the SAW/RPK is much better for supporting fire. If everyone had the same weapon, most pubs would just run an gun since they have the ak74su or the L1A1. Guess what i am trying to say is, most players would try and replace an important gun (such as the SAW) with another weapon that can't do the job that the original weapon was designed for.
 
Yes epic but i dont think that on dust 2 its very improtant to make a strategy a play often on this server and the players dont want to make a strategy they just want to play kill !
 
If everyone had the same weapon, dust would be worse off. everyone would pick the same weapon and the map would not be fun. Its already bad enough when a USMC sit with a saw in the tunnels and exit camps, think if everyone had a RPK or SAW.... o.O
 
I haven't read EVERYBODY'S comments, but I am going to say this, and I'm sure it's already been stated. Unlimited RPG's and M203's ------------- not a good idea............at all.
 
I think at least 2/3 of you would change your vote if you knew that its not possible for anyone to order a rpg in gun menu and the 203 only comes with 3 shots if your not a grenadier you would know this if you ever picked up a 203 as an insurgent! Everyone would not run around with sniper no matter how useful this maybe so people really suck at sniper and others simple would prefer a m4 over a sniper "I would love to see a whole team of snipers on hadita or dust, because I would know not to go on that team because their destiny is failure. This is a really good poll burt you maybe should of gave this guys some full explanation of how guns menu work because I don't think they really understand it


!guns menu Has NO RPG what so ever each team can still only get 2
!guns menu will also enable all marines to get m4 instead of POS m-16 which will enable marines to have some kind of justice from those aks and ak-47 which we all know do the most damage in assault range.

And whats with the everyone have the same weapon comment seriously have you ever seen a team do that and what weapon might that be if i my ask ? because seeing there is no rpg in gun menu are you honestly think a team will go all sniper or all 203 because you can possibly be refering to a whole team of m4's or ak's being a bad thing!? or maybe you are thinking of a all shot gun team ....hhhmm last time i check shot guns only have 7 shots and they take a while to reload and you are unable to shot while reloading so basically I'm asking what is the real unfairness you guys are talking about?

Ok and Again I will co sign Jesus

Me and Burt watched Jesus go crazy for about an hour in dust with a nothing but a pistol killing everybody none stop so even if we had rpg in gun menu which we DON'T skilled players like Jesus are still going to own you. So this menu should be on lol its just something to help the game I mean try it for a week or two and see what happens or do we have something to lose? Also 24/7 ci newbie also run a dust server with that comand on it x2 they are the eGO dust 2 competition even though there just lame hackers, there are the only other server that has dust

!guns (allows you to pick your team guns WITH NO RPG)
!guns2 (allows you to pick the enemy guns)

ONE more time THERE IS NO UNLIMITED RPG WHAT SO EVER IN THE !guns MENU

And who ever say there is no Tactics play on Dust 2 your a either tell a juicy Lie or have not play with Me or Burt, Jesus, Yeti, Avatar ..... the list goes on and on, We play Dust 2 Like any other Ins map its just a bit more fast paced because of the size.

Don't talk about lack of Tactics if you don't communicate you will be surprised at the in game response you get when you actually communicate with team mates even though at first it my seem like they are not communicating back with you eventually they will trust me its how I play the game! I have never heard someone tell someone else please stop giving me Intel trust me I rather here this all day than the people who only use there mic to scream "i got shot i can believe it he is hacking im telling my mommy or even better my shots are not registering I shot him but..... " Yea when a bit off topic but hopefully you get my drift!

I agree with jesus but i think that there is only a small part of the gamer who want to make strategy so its very difficult to create it !!!

but any who if you found it hard to read you simply found it hard to read how is that suppose to be offensive no hard felling bro I'm a grown man I don't bring my feelings online I keep they on my keyboard =)

Sorry about that didn't know I was writing a paper for school thought I was just talking sharing my idea on a form for a video game I play no point in just talking about how its hard to read my post you should post your own thoughts instead its helps the discussion a lot more.

It's also kinda funny reading about people talking about that will kill the tactics on dust when there 5 post about there being no tactics play on dust;interesting

It seems most people think this is just a bad Idea but I'm satisfied enough with it only being on the custom map server Thanks a lot whoever put it on because I requested it like twice=)!

I think Somebody needs to get Information about the !guns mod first and let us know what Kind of control it truly gives to server, If it can restrict the RPG, and the sniper then it should be able to restrict all types of guns.And if that is true then there's another type of admin punishment that can be utilized too stop people from abusing the server.
That's just a thought,But I really don't know enough about it too say yea or nah.
 
Let me clarify which guns are currently on the !guns menu on the custom maps server. I believe that this menu can be modified as well. I will try to use correct grammer for all those English teachers out there.

INS guns menu:

M4 Aimpoint

Yes but i dont say that there is no tactic on this map i just say that its a lot of people dont want to make the tactic they just want to play kill!!!!!

whats the point of having it if you would limit weapons anyway?
and it would make the game really boring cuz everyone is going to pick same cheap weapon and just keep doing that.
i think its a very bad idea.
 
I would say yes as long as RPG and M203 are not on that list. It's a pain in the ass with only two on each team, I don't want 32 of them running around the server.

EDIT: and to add to this ridiculous debate proper grammar is always welcomed. I think it's just a good habit to have, and there's less of a risk to be misunderstood.

There is no need to have 16 M4s and 16 AK-47s. Also to taking this from another perspective...We have scrims...If everyone got so use to using the same gun over and over because they can just choose it, think of how it will affect scrims. Just a thought :)
